Supported Applications

The Weiss Series UG1 Ultra Pressure Gauges are designed for pressure measurement in Process, Industrial, Power, and Chemical Industries. These gauges feature Solid Front (Safety) configurations available as either Liquid-Filled or Dry types to suit specific operational needs.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series meets ASME B40.1 Grade 2A accuracy class standards with accuracies of 0.5% and 1.0%. Ambient operating temperature ranges are specified as 0-150°F for Glycerine-filled units and 50-150°F for Silicone-filled units.

Measurement Ranges

The series supports a broad envelope of pressure, vacuum, and compound scales. Standard dual-scale pressure ranges include:

• psi: 0-15 to 0-20000 psi (including intermediate steps such as 0-60, 0-300, 0-4000, 0-10000)
• kPa: 0-100 kPa to 0-120000 kPa

Vacuum and compound ranges include:

• 30-0 inHg (Vacuum)
• -100-0 kPa (Vacuum)
• Compound scales such as 30-0-15 inHg/psi, -100-0-200 kPa, and others up to 30-0-200 inHg/psi

Configuration Options

The Series UG1 is configurable across dial sizes, case styles, internal materials, and fill types. The catalog number format follows the pattern: <Dial Size> - <Series> - <Case Style> - <Internal Material>. For example, a 4-inch gauge with Bronze internals is ordered as 6UGB-2.

Dial Sizes and Case Styles

• 4½" Dial: Available with Bottom Connection (Case Style B or N) or Lower Back Connection (Case Style F).
• 6" Dial: Available with Bottom & Back Connections (Style B) or Lower Back Connection (Style F).
• 8½" Dial: Available with Bottom or Lower Back connections (Style B).

Internal Materials and Construction

Gauges are offered with wetted parts constructed from Phosphor Bronze/Brass, 316 Stainless Steel, or Monel. The series supports both Dry construction and Liquid-Filled configurations.

The Series UG1 is distinguished by its Ultra designation within the Weiss catalog structure. It shares available dial sizes (4½", 6", 8½") and case styles with the PG-1 Pressure series, but specific internal material codes differentiate the construction options.

The series offers optional accessories including Flush Mounting Rings, Lazy Hand Assemblies, Red Set Hands, Plastic Lenses, Safety Glass Lenses, and Bladders for Liquid Fill Kits. For highly corrosive or viscous media, the documentation notes that a diaphragm seal may be appropriate to isolate the gauge.
