Supported Applications
The Omega OM-CP-Cryo-Temp Ultra Low Temperature Data Logger is designed for monitoring ultra-low temperatures in applications including blood plasma, vaccines, pharmaceuticals, frozen foods, and shipping containers. The device functions as a stand-alone unit with no external probes or wiring required.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The logger utilizes an NTC Thermistor sensor to measure temperature across a range of -86 to 35°C (-122 to 95°F). While the measurement and operating environment are specified for this range, the device may be used up to 55°C (131°F) in ambient conditions. The unit provides a resolution of 0.1°C with a calibrated accuracy of ±1.0°C.
Timekeeping performance is rated at ±2 minutes/month maximum at 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F), and ±5 minutes/month maximum at -80°C (-112°F). The device features an IP65 enclosure rating, described as splash resistant but not submersible. It operates within a humidity range of 0 to 100% RH.
Battery life is specified as typical for 2 years @ +25°C and 1 year at -80°C with minimum reading intervals. The device may be placed in direct contact with dry ice during operation.
Key Performance Specifications

Configuration Options
The series supports configuration options for certification and mounting. The standard model is available with an optional NIST calibration certificate (OM-CP-CRYO-TEMP-CERT). Communication requires the OM-CP-IFC300 interface package, which includes Windows software, a docking station, and a 2 m (6') USB cable.
Mounting options include the standard handle-equipped unit or the optional OM-CP-WM-300 wall mount station. The housing is constructed from ABS plastic with white polycarbonate labeling. Dimensions are listed as 83 H x 54 W x 11 mm D (3.3" x 2.1" x 0.4").
Available Options and Accessories
- NIST Calibration Certificate: Available as OM-CP-CRYO-TEMP-CERT
- Interface Package (OM-CP-IFC300): Required for operation; includes docking station, USB cable, and software
- Wall Mount Station (OM-CP-WM-300)
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between the standard logger model and versions with optional certifications. The OM-CP-CRYO-TEMP is the base ultra-low temperature data logger, while OM-CP-CRYO-TEMP-CERT includes a NIST calibration certificate.
Communication capabilities differ based on accessory selection; the device requires the separate OM-CP-IFC300 docking station to transfer date and time-stamped readings to a PC. The unit features red, green, and yellow LED indicators for status alerts and supports manual start functionality. Password protection is available as an optional feature.
Important operational constraints include: battery replacement must be performed at the factory; the device stops recording when memory capacity (32,767 points) is reached or manually stopped and cannot restart until re-armed by a computer; and short-circuiting, charging, force over-discharge, disassembly, crushing, penetration, or incineration of the battery presents fire, explosion, and severe burn hazards.

Hello, where can I find a license agreement for the temp logging software? Thanks.
Thank you for your question. We will require more information to help on this question, please email the DAS team at DAS@OMEGA.COM

Can the device be used in a liquid nitrogen dry shipper (in -196C vapor, not liquid immersion)? In other words, would the device be able to activate automatically and start logging if temperatures rose into its operating range?
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the device will not operate in this environment, max rating is -86 c.
