Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series TRI Tridicator is a combination pressure gage and thermometer designed for boiler monitoring. The instrument integrates individual pressure and temperature measurement functions into a single unit to simplify installation. It indicates pressure in both psi and kPa, while measuring temperature in Fahrenheit and Celsius.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series TRI operates within specific process and ambient limits defined by the manufacturer:
- Process Temperature Range: 80 to 290°F (30 to 140°C)
- Ambient Temperature Limits: -40 to 250°F (-40 to 120°C)
- Pressure Accuracy: ±3-2-3%
- Temperature Accuracy: ±1 scale division
- Media Compatibility: Compatible gases and liquids
- Housing Material: Drawn steel, black finish
- Wetted Materials: Brass connection and phosphor bronze Bourdon tube
The instrument features a 3" (76 mm) dial with blue pressure markings and red temperature markings. The moveable dial design facilitates reading of both parameters simultaneously.
Configuration Options
The series is available in four standard measurement ranges, each configurable across three distinct connection styles to accommodate different mounting requirements:
- Pressure Ranges: 0-60 psi (0-400 kPa), 0-75 psi (0-500 kPa), 0-100 psi (0-700 kPa), and 0-200 psi (0-1400 kPa)
- Connection Options:
- Center Back Mount with extension shank: 1/4" NPT CBM (ext. shank) — Models ending in "25E"
- Center Back Mount: 1/2" male NPT back connection — Models ending in "-50"
- Lower Mount: 1/2" male NPT bottom connection — Models ending in "-50L"
The model number guide follows the format TRI-<PRESSURE RANGE> - <TEMPERATURE RANGE> - <CONNECTION TYPE>. Overall dimensions vary by configuration, with dimension A ranging from 4-1/2 [114.3] to 6-43/64 [169.47], and weight listed as 12.3 oz (348.7 g).
Key Product Differences
Variants within the Series TRI are distinguished primarily by their pressure range and process connection geometry:
- Extension Shank Models (e.g., TRI-60-25E): Feature a 1/4" NPT CBM with extension shank. These models have an overall dimension A of 4-1/2 [114.3], B of 1-21/64 [33.74], and C of 1 [25.4].
- Standard Center Back Mount Models (e.g., TRI-60-50): Utilize a 1/2" NPT CBM connection. Dimensions are A: 5-15/64 [132.95], B: 3 [76.2], and C: 2-39/64 [66.78].
- Lower Mount Models (e.g., TRI-60-50L): Feature a 1/2" NPT LM connection for bottom mounting. Dimensions are A: 6-43/64 [169.47], B: 2-13/16 [71.44], and C: 2-3/8 [60.33].
All models share the same temperature range of 80 to 290°F (30 to 140°C) regardless of pressure rating or connection type.
