Supported Applications
The Omega OMEGAFILM® Thin Film Platinum RTD Elements (Series F) are designed for temperature measurement in less critical applications. These platinum resistance thermometer elements conform to IEC60751 standards and feature an Alpha coefficient of 0.00385. The series is intended for use directly with controllers and instruments or as a component within custom sensor assemblies.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series F elements operate across a temperature range of -50 to 500°C (-58 to 932°F). Accuracy is specified per DIN Class "B" tolerances, with nominal resistance values at 0°C defined as follows:
- 100.00 ±0.12 Ω
- 500.00 ±0.60 Ω
- 1000.00 ±1.20 Ω
The sensing element diameter is 0.25 ±0.02 mm.
Variants and Dimensions
Different model numbers correspond to specific physical dimensions while maintaining the same temperature range and electrical connection type (0.2 mm diameter by 10 mm long leads). The available configurations include:
- 5RTD-F3101, 5RTD-F3131, 5RTD-F3141: Dimensions of 10 ±1 mm x 9.5 ±0.15 mm x 0.9 ±0.1 mm.
- 5RTD-F3102, 5RTD-F3132: Dimensions of 10 ±1 mm x 3.9 ±0.15 mm x 0.9 ±0.1 mm.
- 5RTD-F3142: Dimensions of 15 ±2 mm x 5 ±0.2 mm x 1.3 ±0.2 mm.
- 5RTD-F3105, 5RTD-F3145: Dimensions of 10 ±1 mm x 2.3 ±0.15 mm x 0.9 ±0.1 mm.
- 5RTD-F3107: Dimensions of 10 ±1 mm x 3.9 ±0.15 mm x 0.9 ±0.1 mm (with a lead length dimension noted as 1.5 ±0.15 mm in the specification table).
Configuration Options
The series is supplied in economical packs of five elements per unit. Selection is driven by nominal resistance and physical footprint requirements.
- Nominal Resistance: 100 Ω, 500 Ω, or 1000 Ω at 0°C.
- Electrical Connection: All variants include leads with a diameter of 0.2 mm and a length of 10 mm.
- Packaging: Sold as 5-packs (e.g., model number guide format: 5RTD-F).
Key Product Differences
Variants within the Series F differ primarily by nominal resistance and overall dimensions. The model number structure reflects these differences, where specific suffixes denote the physical size configuration paired with a given resistance value (100 Ω, 500 Ω, or 1000 Ω). For example, models ending in '01' share one dimensional profile, while those ending in '42' represent a larger form factor. All variants maintain identical temperature limits and DIN Class "B" accuracy specifications.

Excellent quality RTDs
We use these RTDs inside of small 3 phase DC motors manufactured for Aerospace use. Tight tolerance between units and the solderable legs are very easy to tin with 4% silver solder. A bit pricey, but when a $250,000 aircraft depends on our motors to VTOL safely, we choose the best sensors for data acquisition!

Where can I find a manual?
Hi, thanks for connecting with us. Although we do not have manuals for our RTD temperature sensors we do have resources that could help. Please view https://www.omega.co.uk/prodinfo/rtd.html
