Supported Applications

The Omega RH80 series are compact, pocket-sized thermo-hygrometers for measuring relative humidity and temperature, with higher models adding dew point and wet bulb temperature. An electronic capacitance polymer film sensor measures humidity and a thermistor measures temperature, with results shown on an LCD, making the instruments convenient handheld tools for spot checks.

Their portability and multi-parameter readout suit laboratories, printing and paper processing, and general facility monitoring wherever a quick, battery-powered humidity and temperature reading is needed. All models are °F/°C switchable and include data hold, min/max data storage, and auto power off.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The RH81 measures 5 to 95% RH over -10 to 50 °C (14 to 122 °F), while the RH83 and RH92 measure 0 to 100% RH over -20 to 50 °C (-4 to 122 °F). Humidity resolution is 0.1% RH and temperature resolution is 0.1 °C (0.1 °F).

Temperature accuracy is ±1 °C (±1.8 °F) on the RH81 and RH83, and a tighter ±0.6 °C (±1.0 °F) on the RH92. Humidity accuracy is ±4% at 25 °C from 10 to 90% for the RH81, ±3% at 25 °C from 10 to 90% for the RH83, and ±3% across 0-100% non-condensing for the RH92.

The RH92 can be recalibrated with available salt solutions, and its replaceable external temperature probe, the P8706, extends the temperature range to -20 to 70 °C (-4 to 158 °F).

Configuration Options

The three models share the same pocket form factor, capacitance humidity sensor, thermistor temperature sensor, and LCD readout, and differ mainly in the number of measured parameters, the humidity range, and calibration capability.

Measured Parameters

The RH81 measures relative humidity and temperature, the RH83 adds dew point and wet bulb temperature, and the RH92 provides the same dew point and wet bulb measurements as the RH83.

Range and Accuracy

The RH81 covers 5 to 95% RH, while the RH83 and RH92 cover the wider 0 to 100% RH span; the RH92 also offers the tightest temperature accuracy at ±0.6 °C (±1.0 °F).

Calibration and Probe

The RH81 and RH83 use a protective cover that also serves as a clip, while the RH92 adds a twist-close cap, is recalibratable, and accepts the replaceable external P8706 probe.

Key Product Differences

This series consists of three pocket thermo-hygrometers, differentiated by measurement capability. Each ships complete with two AAA batteries and an operator's manual.

  • RH81 — relative humidity and temperature, 5 to 95% RH.
  • RH83 — relative humidity, temperature, dew point, and wet bulb, 0 to 100% RH.
  • RH92 — the same measurements as the RH83 with recalibration and a replaceable external probe, 0 to 100% RH.

Accessories include the P8706 replaceable external temperature probe for the RH92 and the CS338706 and CS758706 test salts for recalibration.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Problems with calibration RH92 Psychrometer. The RH92 Digital Psychrometer Is easy to use when measuring the environmental relative humidity and dew point. However, the psychrometer sensor is too small to fit snugly into the calibration salt containers so there is no accurate calibration possible for the psychrometer. I am waiting for Omega to correction the problem.

does this unit measure dew point down to -20 degrees F?

The RH83 will not measure Dewpoint to -20F.
