Supported Applications

The Dwyer Temperature Sensor Accessories series provides connection hardware and extension solutions for temperature sensing applications. The product line supports thermocouple (T/C) types J, K, E, T, R, S, and RTD configurations including 2-wire and 3-wire sensors. Available components include compression fittings, pipe adapters, bayonet adapters, transition adapters, male plugs, female jacks, and extension cables designed to interface with temperature measurement systems.

Operating Conditions & Performance

Performance specifications vary by component type and material selection within the series. Series A-TC thermocouple wire spools are rated for operating temperatures of 450°C (fiber glass insulation) or 200°C (FEP insulation). Compression fittings accommodate sensor outer diameters ranging from 1/8" to .260 - .275", with thread sizes including 1/8-27 NPT and 1/4-18 NPT. Bayonet adapters feature lengths of 7/8", 1-3/8", or 2-1/2" with thread specifications such as 1/8-27 UNF, 3/8-24 UNF, and 10 x 1.5 mm.

Configuration Options

The series offers a broad range of configurable options to match specific sensor types, connection requirements, and installation environments.

• Sensor Compatibility: Supports T/C types J, K, E, T, R, S; RTD 2-wire (code "2"); and RTD 3-wire (code "3").
• Extension Cables: Configurable with sensor type codes, extension insulation options including fiberglass, FEP, stainless steel overbraid, or flex hose; terminal types include stripped ends, lugs, standard/mini plugs and jacks, and Fastabs.
• Compression Fittings: Available in Brass (models 144-0012, 144-0014), Stainless Steel (SS) (models 144-0022, 144-0024), and FEP (model 144-0037). Thread sizes include 1/8-27 NPT and 1/4-18 NPT.
• Pipe Adapters: Designed to fit pipe diameters ranging from 1/2" up to 30-1/4", with specific models covering ranges such as 6-1/4" to 6-3/4" and 17-3/4" to 18-1/4".
• Plugs & Jacks: Offered in standard size (e.g., model 481-0001 for J type) and miniature size (e.g., model 481-0093 for J type). Includes male plugs and female jacks.
• Transition Adapters: Specific models available, such as 481-0127 for K type and 481-0128 for T type.

The series distinguishes between several functional categories of accessories. Compression fittings vary by material (Brass, SS, FEP) and thread size to match sensor outer diameters from 1/8" through .275". Pipe adapters are differentiated by the pipe diameter range they accommodate, spanning small-bore applications up to large-diameter piping over 30 inches. Bayonet adapters differ in length (L dimension) and thread standard (UNF vs metric). Electrical connectors separate into male plugs and female jacks available in both standard and miniature form factors for various thermocouple types including J, K, T, E, R, S, and Copper configurations.
