Supported Applications
The Omega LVF-200A-R Series is an optical level switch designed for leak detection and monitoring clear or translucent liquids. The sensor operates by creating a pulsed beam of infrared light reflected on the oblique flat sensor tip; when dry, the beam is recognized, but if wet, it reflects back into the liquid. Factory calibrated for specific media types, this series provides high optical efficiency with resistance to ambient light and process condensation.

- Detection of clear or translucent liquids
Operating Conditions & Performance
The LVF-200A-R Series operates within a process temperature range of -40 to 90°C (-40 to 194°F). Accuracy is specified as ±1 mm (0.04") in water, with repeatability of ±0.5 mm (0.02") in water.
Performance limits and environmental ratings include:
- Maximum Pressure Rating PP: 150 psi @ 25°C (76°F), derated at 1.667 psi per °C above 25°C (76°F)
- Voltage Input: 12 to 36 Vdc @ 25 mA
- Loop Resistance: 600 Ω @ 24 Vdc
- Enclosure Rating: NEMA 6 (IP68) submersible sensor and cable
- Cable Length: Standard 3 m (10') with a maximum of 305 m (1000')
The series is not recommended for use with coating or highly specular liquids.

The LVF-200A-R Series offers configurable options regarding sensor material, insertion length, and process connection thread type. The model number guide follows the format: LVF-<LENGTH>-<MATERIAL>-<THREAD>

Key Product Differences
Variants within the LVF-200A-R Series are distinguished by material composition and physical dimensions. Models ending in "PP" utilize Polypropylene wetted materials, while those with "PFA" use Perfluoroalkoxy.
- LVF-210A-R / LVF-212A-R: 7.6 cm (3") and 11.4 cm (4.5") lengths respectively, with PP material and ¾ NPT thread.
- LVF-211A-R / LVF-213A-R: 7.6 cm (3") and 11.4 cm (4.5") lengths respectively, with PFA material and ¾ NPT thread.
Variants designated with a "G" suffix in the model number (e.g., LVF-210A-G-R) feature a ¾ G process connection instead of ¾ NPT. All models include an operator's manual and carry CE approval with a 1 YEAR WARRANTY.

Hi, I am faculty member of Mohawk college and we have some of this sensor but I don’t know how to generate or receive signal from this sensor. Does it need another module to generate infrared signal and converted to voltage or current? Thanks,
Thank you for your inquiry. This is a LVF-210A-R which is a level switch and only has relays, there is no signal output.
