The Omega STYLE 3 RTD ELEMENT series provides Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) sensors featuring fast response with exposed elements. These wire sensor assemblies are designed for temperature measurement applications requiring rapid thermal detection, offering a thermal response time of less than 1 second (63%). The series supports configurations compatible with handheld meters such as the HH804U and various data logging or control systems including DP25B-RTD panel meters, OM-SQ2010 loggers, CN1A controllers, and HE-XT105 PLC/HMI units.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series delivers performance across distinct temperature envelopes depending on the element style and lead wire insulation selected. Class A Thin Film Element Styles operate from -30 to 300°C (-22 to 572°F), while Class A Wire Wound Element Styles cover a range of -100 to 450°C (-148 to 842°F). When configured with PFA Lead Wires, the operating limits are reduced: Class A Thin Film elements support -30 to 260°C (-22 to 500°F), and Class A Wire Wound elements support -100 to 260°C (-148 to 500°F). Accuracy is specified as IEC Class A, with specific values of ±0.15°C @ 0°C for standard configurations and PFA lead wire variants.
Element Specifications
- Thin Film Elements: Available in sizes such as 2 W x 2 mm L (e.g., RTD-2-F3105) or 4 W x 5 mm L (e.g., RTD-2-F3102).
- Wire Wound Elements: Offered in diameters of 1.5 Dia. x 25 mm L and 2.8 Dia. x 25 mm L.

Configuration Options
The series is highly configurable to meet diverse installation requirements through a structured model number guide: RTD-<WIRE_COUNT>-<ELEMENT_TYPE>-<ELEMENT_SIZE>-<LEAD_LENGTH>-<INSULATION_TYPE>. Variants are available with 2-, 3-, or 4-wire electrical connections using #26 AWG stranded or solid nickel-plated copper wire.
Insulation and Lead Options
Sensors feature exposed elements with lead wires insulated in one of three styles:
- Fiberglass Insulated (Suffix G): Standard insulation for general temperature ranges.
- PFA Insulated (Suffix T): Provides chemical resistance and specific high-temperature performance within the defined PFA limits.
- Bare Lead Wires (Suffix B): Uninsulated nickel wire leads available for direct termination or custom potting applications.
Connectors and Accessories
The series supports various electrical terminations, including spade style terminal lugs (-LUG), full-sized connectors (OTP), and miniature 3-pin connectors (MTP). The element-to-cable connection is available with ceramic cement or epoxy potting. Additional accessories listed for use include OMEGABOND® high temp chemical set cements, FBGS-N-24 fiberglass sleeving, FRX-02018 thermocouple insulators, and various data loggers.
Lead Lengths
Standard lead lengths are customizable. The model number segment for length allows specification in inches (e.g., -36) or meters (e.g., 1M). Standard overall length examples include 1 m (40"). Longer leads can be ordered by changing the numeric suffix to the desired length in inches.
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between element technologies and accuracy classes. Thin film elements are generally smaller (e.g., 2 mm x 2 mm) compared to wire wound options which may be cylindrical with diameters up to 2.8 mm. Accuracy class varies by model; while most listed variants specify Class A, specific thin film models such as RTD-2-F3142 are designated as Class B.
Wire count variations affect the model number prefix: replace '2' with '1' for 2-wire assemblies or '3' for 4-wire configurations. Specific accuracy options exist for DIN panel meter compatibility; adding '-1/3' to a model number adjusts accuracy for ½ DIN meters, while '-1/10' is used for ¼ DIN meters (available only in 4-wire construction). Temperature ranges for these specific DIN applications are noted as 0 to 150°C (32 to 302°F) for ½ DIN and 0 to 100°C (32 to 212°F) for ¼ DIN.

What is the cable OD for the 2 wire model? I plan on drilling a hole to route this sensor and cable through and I'm trying to determine what size it will need to be. Looking specifically at RTD-1-F3105-36-T.

Hi I am wondering if this model (RTD-3-F3105-1M-T) is suitable for immersing it in water to perform basic calibration (ice and boiling water). Thx
These type of probes would not be suitable for immersing in liquid directly. If you insert them in a watertight tube or plastic bag you can immerse them.

When I connect the RTD-1-F3105-1M-T to the HH804U thermometer, which "Type" setting should I use? The choices are Pt385, Pt3926, or Pt3916. I get a different temperature reading for each type with the same RTD plugged in. Where is this documented?
