The straight design facilitates insertion into ducts through grills and pressure taps, aiding positioning in hard-to-reach locations where hook-style pitot tubes may not allow access.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series 160F measures air or gas stream flow velocity within a range of 0 to 9000 FPM (45 M/s) with an accuracy of ±2% FS. The instrument is rated for process temperatures up to 1500°F (815°C). Wetted materials consist of corrosion-resistant 304 SS, and the probe features a diameter of 1/4" [6.35].
For optimal performance, installation requires a duct diameter of 4" or larger with readings taken in a smooth, straight section minimum 10-15 duct diameters upstream and 5 diameters downstream from the pitot tube. The static pressure port is parallel to the sensing tube to allow quick alignment with airflow.
Configuration Options
The series offers multiple probe lengths configured by model suffix, providing insertion capabilities for various duct depths:
- 160F: 18" (457.2 mm) probe length; overall dimension A is 19-9/32" [489.56].
- 160F-24: 24" (609.6 mm) probe length.
- 160F-36: 36" (914.4 mm) probe length.
- 160F-48: 48" (1219.2 mm) probe length.
- 160F-60: 60" (1524 mm) probe length.
The tubes feature permanently etched insertion depth graduations for a lifetime of service and weigh 4.3 oz (122 g). The series meets the technical requirements of EU Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS II).

Is there a shorter version of this probe available? I need something more like 4-6" in total length and 1/4" stem
