Supported Applications
The Omega OMEGALUX® ARTMS Series consists of stainless steel immersion heaters designed for process solutions with a pH range of 5 to 9. These units feature an integral thermostat for temperature control and utilize passivated stainless steel sheaths suitable for weak corrosive solutions.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The ARTMS series operates on 120 or 240 Vac, 1 phase power supplies. The heaters provide wattage ranging from 0.75 to 3 kW with surface loading values between 64 and 86 W/in² depending on the specific model configuration.
Temperature control is managed via an integral thermostat available in three distinct ranges:
- 60 to 187°F
- 60 to 240°F
- 0 to 127°F
The wetted construction utilizes a passivated stainless steel sheath with an element diameter of 0.315 in (0.8 cm). The process connection is provided via a 1 NPT stainless steel screw plug.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable options across enclosure types, power ratings, and temperature ranges to accommodate specific installation needs.
Enclosure Types
- E1 General Purpose: NEMA-1 rated enclosures. These units are UL Listed and CSA certified.
- E2 Moisture Resistant/Explosion Resistant: Enclosures designed for moisture resistance or explosion-resistant applications, featuring 2 (1.25) NPT conduit hubs with one side plugged. These units are CSA NRTL/C certified.
Power and Dimensions
Models range from 0.75 kW to 3.0 kW. Overall dimension B varies by power rating, ranging from 6 5/8 (16) in for the 0.75 kW model up to 19 1/8 (50) in for the 3.0 kW models.
Model Number Structure
The series follows a specific ordering format: ARTMS-<kW>[-<voltage>][-<enclosure>][-<temp range>]. Voltage is designated as "/120" or "/240", while temperature ranges are indicated by suffixes such as TH (60 to 240°F) and TL (0 to 127°F).
Key Product Differences
Variants within the ARTMS series differ primarily by enclosure rating, power output, voltage compatibility, and thermostat range.
- Enclosure Distinction: Models with "E2" in the part number (e.g., ARTMS-1000E2) feature moisture resistant/explosion resistant enclosures. Standard models without this designation utilize general purpose NEMA-1 rated housings.
- Voltage Availability: While most wattages are available at both 120 and 240 Vac, the 3.0 kW variants (e.g., ARTMS-3000) are listed only for 240V operation in the specification table.
- Temperature Range Suffixes: The base model number implies a standard range; adding "TH" specifies the 60 to 240°F thermostat, and "TL" specifies the 0 to 127°F thermostat. Models without these suffixes correspond to the 60 to 187°F range.
