Supported Applications
The Omega TMS Series consists of flanged immersion heaters designed specifically for mild corrosive solutions. These units feature premium grade stainless steel (8% Nickel) sheathed heating elements with a high-grade 304 series stainless steel outer sheath, providing rugged construction suitable for industrial liquid heating processes requiring corrosion resistance.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The TMS Series operates at power ratings from 3 to 36 kW. Electrical supply options include 240 and 480 V in both single-phase (1) and three-phase (3 phase) configurations. The series maintains a watt density of 23 W/in². Construction includes stainless steel .475" (1.2 cm) diameter elements welded to steel flanges, with heavy-duty jumper straps and terminal parts designed for permanent tightness and high current carrying capacity.
Heaters are equipped with General purpose NEMA 1 rated terminal enclosures as standard; other enclosure options are available upon request. The series is UL Listed and CSA Certified but is not intended for use in hazardous areas. Approved pressure and/or temperature limiting controls must be used to assure safe operation in the event of system malfunctions.
Configuration Options
The TMS Series offers a configurable envelope across flange sizes, power ratings, voltage, and phase options:
- Flange Sizes: Available with 3-inch, 5-inch, and 6-inch steel flanges. Larger flange sizes are available upon request.
- Power Ratings: Configurable from 3 kW to 36 kW depending on the model family (e.g., TMS-3xxxM for lower wattage up to 9 kW, TMS-6xxxM and TMS-12xxxM for higher capacities).
- Voltage & Phase: Models support 240 V or 480 V. Single-phase operation is standard on many models; three-phase power requires adding the "/3P" suffix to the model number.
- Enclosures: Standard General purpose NEMA 1 rated terminal enclosures are included. Optional Type E-3 Enclosure and other moisture-resistant or specialized housings can be requested through OMEGALUX®.
- Inclusions: Gasket seals are included with the unit.
