Supported Applications

The Omega OMDC-PU-E series consists of DC motor pick-up sensors designed for encoder-capable DC motors. These speed sensors mount directly on the shaft being monitored to measure Motor Speed in RPM or Pulses/Minute.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -10 to 45°C (14 to 113°F). Measurement capability extends up to 5000 Rpm or 50,000 Pulses/Minute. The sensors feature a stainless steel ball bearing and provide a Square Wave Output where the signal equals the supply voltage.

Power requirements are met with a 4.5 to 24 Vdc power supply. For operation within this range (5 to 24 Vdc Supply Voltage), the output functions as a current sink with an absolute maximum of 50 mA.

Pulse Counts per Revolution

  • 1 Pulse/Revolution: Models ending in 2 (e.g., OMDC-PU-2)
  • 2 Pulses/Revolution: Models ending in 4 (e.g., OMDC-PU-4)
  • 10 Pulses/Revolution: Models ending in 20
  • 20 Pulses/Revolution: Models ending in 40

Housing and Output Types

  • NPN Pick-up Sensor (Standard): Identified by the suffix E.
  • NPN Quadrature Pick-up Sensor: Available for 10 pulses per revolution with the suffix QUAD (e.g., OMDC-PU-20EQUAD).
  • Outdoor Use: Identified by the suffix R, available in standard and quadrature configurations.

The series is RoHS compliant, Made in USA, and includes a 1 YEAR WARRANTY. A caution note specifies: DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN MOUNTING SCREW!!!
