Supported Applications

The OM-21 Cold Chain PDF Logger is a single-use data logger designed for monitoring the transportation of products subject to cold chain requirements (GDP). Part of the NOMAD® Family, it is aimed at pharmaceutical, food, and other temperature-sensitive shipments where an auditable temperature record must accompany the goods.

The logger plugs directly into a PC's USB port and automatically generates a PDF report containing a summary, graph, and detailed data list, so recipients can produce an audit report without installing special software. Compliance with EN12830 and FDA 21 CFR Part 11 makes it appropriate for regulated distribution of vaccines, biologics, and perishable foods.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The OM-21 records temperature over -30 to 70°C (-22 to 158°F) using an NTC thermistor, with an accuracy of ±0.5°C and a resolution of 0.1°C (0.1°F).

LED indicators cover REC, low battery, high alarm, and low alarm status. Alarm thresholds can be set as single, cumulative, or disabled, and selectable alarm ranges include 2 to 8°C (36 to 46°F) (low alarm below 2°C, high alarm above 8°C) among others. The device appears as a mass storage device when connected, and the user manual, set-up utility, and PDF report are all stored in the data logger.

Configuration Options

The OM-21 is offered as a single logging configuration, ordered in a multi-unit pack. Every unit is a single-use device with the same NTC thermistor sensor, -30 to 70°C (-22 to 158°F) range, ±0.5°C accuracy, 8192-reading memory, and factory-installed 3V lithium battery (CR2032), so there are no sensor or memory options to select between units.

Configuration flexibility comes from programming rather than hardware: the report language can be English (default), German, French, Italian, or Spanish, an optional password of up to 16 alpha-numeric characters can be enabled, and the start can be delayed by 0, 5, 30, 45, 60, 90, or 120 minutes before logging begins.
