Supported Applications

The Omega SREH series consists of Silicone Rubber Enclosed Heaters designed for moisture, chemical, and radiation resistance. These heaters are engineered to maintain temperature within enclosures where environmental protection is required.

Operating Conditions & Performance

SREH units operate on a 120 Vac power supply with output ratings up to 120 W. The series features built-in thermostats configured for specific setpoints, including models that open at 15°C (60°F) and close at 4°C (40°F), as well as configurations opening at 82°C (180°F) with a closing point of 65°C (150°F). The maximum energized exposure temperature is rated to 232°C (450°F), while the maximum de-energized exposure temperature reaches 260°C (500°F). Minimum exposure temperatures are specified at -51°C (-60°F).

Configuration Options

The SREH series is available in two primary physical dimensions: a compact size of 6.4 cm (2.5") width by 15.24 cm (6") length, and an extended size of 6.4 cm (2.5") width by 30.48 cm (12") length.

  • Power Ratings: Models are offered in 60 W or 120 W configurations depending on the selected dimensions and thermostat requirements.
  • Thermostat Options: Variants include units with no internal thermostat (e.g., SREH600, SREH1200) and models equipped with thermostats set to open at 15°C (60°F), 60°C (140°F), or 82°C (180°F).
  • Electrical Connections: Standard units include 122 cm (48") PFA leads.
  • Housing and Materials: The heaters utilize a silicone rubber sheath for environmental resistance and are mounted on an aluminum mounting bracket.

The series supports optional configurations, including the addition of Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) by adding the suffix '-P' to the model number. Custom 96" leads are available as a special order option with the suffix '-096'. Approvals for this series include UR Pending.

Key Product Differences

The SREH series is distinct from the related SRMU Square/Rectangular Heat Blankets, which offer flexible heating elements in various watt densities (2.5 Watts/in², 5 Watts/in², and 10 Watts/in²) without integrated thermostats or enclosure-specific housings. Within the SREH line, variations are defined by total wattage (60 W vs. 120 W), physical length (15.24 cm/6" vs. 30.48 cm/12"), and thermostat setpoint logic.

Model numbers follow the format SREH<WIDTH><LENGTH><WATTS><THERMOSTAT SETPOINT>. For example, SREH1240 denotes a 30.48 cm (12") unit with 120 W and a thermostat setpoint of 15°C (60°F). Models ending in '0' without a specific temperature suffix indicate the absence of an internal thermostat.
