Supported Applications

The Omega TOTE Series consists of flexible wrap-around surface heaters designed for maintenance heating of caged, plastic, or metal tote tanks and Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs). These units are intended for applications including viscosity control, freeze protection, temperature maintenance, melting of solids, heat-up of contents to a required temperature, and thermal mixing. The product overview explicitly states that these heaters are not designed for immersion use, hazardous locations, outdoor environments, or wet areas.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The TOTE Series features two independent heating zones, each equipped with an adjustable thermostat and a built-in high-limit thermostat. The adjustable thermostats provide a setting range of 10 to 70°C (50 to 160°F). A manual reset is required for the high-limit thermostats, which are set at approximately 90°C (195°F). The heaters utilize silicone-impregnated cloth facing and liner with 6 mm (0.25") fiberglass insulation.

Performance specifications include a maximum exposure temperature of 230°C (450°F) for the outer sheath and liner. Power requirements are available in 120 Vac or 240 Vac configurations, delivering wattages of either 1440 W or 2880 W depending on the model voltage selection.

Configuration Options

The series is configured to fit tote tanks ranging from 1 m square up to 1.2 m square, with specific height options of 0.9 m (36"), 1.1 m (42"), or 1.2 m (48"). The total blanket length is approximately 5 m (16.5'), providing a heated length of approx 4.1 m (13.5'). Units are secured using adjustable nylon straps with buckles.

Electrical connections include a standard power plug on a 1.8 m (6') power cord, compatible with NEMA 5-15 for 120VAC and NEMA 6-15 for 240VAC applications as referenced in the user guide.
