Supported Applications

The Omega PX4200 Series consists of pressure transmitters utilizing Silicon-on-Sapphire (SOS) sensor technology. These devices feature solid-state silicon strain gages on a sapphire carrier glass-bonded to a titanium diaphragm, providing high durability and stability for general pressure measurement applications.

The series is designed for vacuum to 6000 psi ranges with an IP65 enclosure rating. The construction offers corrosion resistance suitable for demanding environments where long-term stability is required.

Performance specifications are defined by the SOS sensor architecture and titanium wetted parts:

• Accuracy: ±0.25% full scale (includes linearity and hysteresis)

The transmitters are loop powered with an excitation voltage of 18 to 36 Vdc (reverse polarity protected). When used with the PM1000 display, the excitation range is 13 to 36 Vdc.

Configuration Options

The PX4200 series supports a broad envelope of pressure ranges and optional configurations:

• Measurement Ranges: Vacuum to 6000 psi, including specific options such as 30 inHg to 0, 0 inHg to 30, 0 to 5 psi through 0 to 1.5K psi, and up to 0 to 6K psi.
• Output Signal: 4 to 20 mA (2-Wire) with zero and span adjustments.
• Housing & Materials: Stainless steel case; Titanium wetted parts. Overall dimensions are typically Diameter: 25.4 mm (1.0 in), Overall Length: 66 mm (2.60 in).
• Process Connection: ¼-18 NPT male thread.
• Electrical Connection: DIN 43650 plug mating connector supplied; Pinout includes Ex+ and Sig+ with two n/c pins.

Optional accessories include the PM1000 Plug-On Display and the PM1001 Plug-on Loop Powered Pressure Monitor, which adds single set-point capability. The series is CE approved.

The series includes multiple model families distinguished by output type and display integration:

• PX4200 Series (e.g., PX4200-100GI): Standard 4 to 20 mA transmitters with DIN connector.
• PXM4200 Series (e.g., PXM4200-100BGI, PXM4200-VACGI): Variants listed in the enabled inventory include specific range codes and suffixes indicating different configurations or display integrations.
