Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series SF Sight Flow Transmitter integrates tangential turbine technology with hermetically sealed circuitry to provide accurate flow measurement and control. The series is designed for measuring compatible liquids in cooling and lubrication circuits, HVAC systems, aggressive chemical metering, and batching systems.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series SF operates within a process temperature range of 20 to 225°F (-7 to 107°C) with a flow measurement capability from 0.5 to 15 GPM (2 to 60 LPM). Accuracy is specified as ±2% FS, and repeatability is 0.5% FS. The response time is documented as 2 s to 90% for a step change in flow rate.
Pressure limits vary by model: Model SF10 supports up to 500 psig (34 bar), while Model SF11, featuring a polycarbonate cover, has a pressure limit of 200 psig (14 bar). The maximum allowable particle size is 100 μm.
Configuration Options
The series offers two primary configurations distinguished by the cover material and resulting pressure rating:
- Model SF10: Features a 316 SS cover with a maximum pressure of 500 psig (34 bar).
- Model SF11: Equipped with a clear polycarbonate cover, allowing visual indication of flow or contents; rated for 200 psig (14 bar).
The transmitter utilizes a 2-wire loop-powered design requiring a supply voltage of 12-35 VDC and providing a 4-20 mA output signal. The maximum load resistance is 1150 Ω max.
Construction & Connections
- Process Connection: 1/2" female NPT.
- Electrical Connection: Wire leads: 22 AWG x 9' (2.7 m).
- Wetted Materials: 316 SS shaft and case, Iglide® bearings, Buna-N seal or EPR for -EPR units, acetal copolymer.
An optional NIST traceable calibration certificate is available using order code NISTCAL-FT1. The unit carries CE approval.
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction between the Series SF models lies in the cover material and its impact on pressure capability. Model SF10 utilizes a 316 SS cover, enabling operation at higher pressures up to 500 psig (34 bar). Model SF11 incorporates a clear polycarbonate cover for visual flow indication but is limited to 200 psig (14 bar) due to the material properties of the cover. Both models share identical wetted materials, electrical specifications, and measurement ranges.
