Supported Applications

The Omega PRTXS series is a sanitary RTD temperature probe designed for hygienic process temperature measurement. Each transmitter uses a Pt100 Class A sensing element with 316L stainless steel wetted parts and a Tri-clamp process connection, so it can be installed on sanitary fittings in food, beverage, dairy, and other clean-process lines where cleanability and standards compliance matter.

Every unit is IO-Link capable, providing bi-directional, point-to-point communication of process data and sensor configuration. A scalable 4 to 20 mA analog output and an integrated PNP switch let the same probe support continuous analog monitoring and simple on/off switching, so the PRTXS integrates into both digital and conventional control systems.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The PRTXS series measures process temperatures over a range of -50 to 200 °C (-58 to 392 °F) with a Pt100 Class A RTD element. Over the full measuring range the accuracy is ± 0.55 °C (0.99 °F), and when the output is scaled the accuracy is ± [0.215 °C (0.39 °F) + 0.134 % x (Measuring Span)].

With its 1/4" probe diameter the response time is T90 = 4 sec, measured in water. The electronics operate across an ambient temperature range of -40 to 85 °C (-40 to 185 °F) and at relative humidity below 95%.

• Operating voltage: 15 to 30 VDC for the IO-Link/Switch output; 10 to 30 VDC for the analog output, protected against reverse polarity.
• Housing construction: 316L Stainless Steel, rated IP67/IP68/IP69K.
• Output: IO-Link Communication, PNP Switch (200 mA), and Analog 4 to 20 mA.
• Certifications: CE, UKCA, 3-A, and EHEDG.

Configuration Options

All PRTXS models share the same Pt100 Class A sensing element, 316L stainless steel wetted and housing materials, and the combined IO-Link, PNP switch, and 4 to 20 mA output set. Because the series is sanitary, every model uses a Tri-clamp connection and a single 1/4" probe diameter; models differ by Tri-clamp size and probe length.

Tri-clamp Process Connection

Sanitary Tri-clamp fittings are offered in 1.5", 2.0", and 2.5" sizes to match common clamp ferrule diameters on hygienic process lines.

Probe Length

Insertion lengths of 2", 3", 4", and 6" are available, with custom lengths available upon request, letting the sensing tip reach the required depth in a fitting or vessel.

Key Product Differences

Each catalog number encodes, in order, the Tri-clamp process connection, the probe diameter, the probe length, and the output. For example, PRTXS-1.5T-1/4-6-IO is an RTD Temperature Transmitter with a 1.5" Tri-clamp process connection, a 1/4" probe diameter, and a 6" probe length.

Combining the three Tri-clamp sizes with the four standard lengths yields the full orderable lineup. Representative configurations include:
