PHE6820B-Series

Supported Applications

The Omega PHE6820B Series consists of retractable flat surface pH/ORP electrodes designed for insertion into tanks and main lines. The series is specifically engineered for difficult applications involving oily waste water, emulsions, lime slurries, and flocculants.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The PHE6820B Series features a flat surface design that minimizes fouling and coating while eliminating electrode breakage. Turbulent flow across the electrode surface provides a scrubbing action to maintain cleanliness. The electrodes are suitable for mounting in any location, including up through the bottom of a tank with the sensor surface facing upward.

Operating temperature limits vary by body material: Standard Models operate to 87°C (190°F); CPVC bodies support operation to 100°C (212°F). The series utilizes wetted materials including CPVC, PVDF, and FKM O-Rings. A BNC connector provides the electrical connection.

Process Connection

• 1" Male NPT Pipe Thread

The assembly is designed for use with a 1" full port or larger ball valve (user supplied), allowing electrode removal without shutting down the system.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable options across sensor type, body material, insertion depth, and temperature compensation. Electrodes and mounting assemblies are ordered separately; materials of construction must match between components.

Sensor Types & Materials

• pH electrodes: PHE-6820B (CPVC), PHE-6821 (PVDF)
• ORP electrodes: ORE-6820B (CPVC), ORE-6821 (PVDF)

Mounting Assemblies & Insertion Depths

Required mounting assemblies are available in CPVC and PVDF with the following insertion lengths:

• 305 mm (12")
• 457 mm (18")
• 610 mm (24")

Cable options include a standard 3 m (10') length with BNC connector. Cable lengths up to 15 m (50') are available at additional cost per extra foot.

Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC)

Mounting assemblies can be configured with ATC sensors built into the insertion assembly. Available sensor types include:

• PT100: 100 Ω Pt RTD
• PT1K: 1000 Ω Pt RTD
• TH700: Series 700 thermistor
• R3K: 3000 Ω Balco

Note: Temperature compensation is not required with ORP electrodes.

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes between pH and ORP measurement types, each available in CPVC or PVDF body materials. Mounting assemblies are differentiated by insertion depth (305 mm/12", 457 mm/18", 610 mm/24") and the presence of an ATC sensor.

Special service options include:

• HG: Fluoride resistant, for additional cost
• LC: Low conductivity, for additional cost
• GL: Ground loop, for additional cost

The series holds RoHS approval. When the electrode expires, only the sensor element needs to be re-ordered; the mounting assembly remains in place.
