Supported Applications

The Omega NB1 Replacement Thermocouple Probes are designed for use in thermowells and protection heads, providing a replaceable sensing element that maintains the integrity of permanent installations. These probes support direct surface contact applications where faster response is required compared to standard immersion methods.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series meets Special Limits of Error (SLE) and EN 60584-2: Tolerance Class 1 accuracy standards. Process temperature capabilities vary by probe construction, with Low-Cost Hollow-Tube Probes rated up to 450°F and Glass-Insulated Leads rated up to 900°F.

• Specialty Thermocouple Probes: Type J, K, T, E, N

Diameters and Lengths

Probe diameters are available in 1.5 mm (⅛"), 3.0 mm (⅜"), 4.5 mm (¾"), and 6.0 mm (¼"). The standard insertion length is 300 mm (12"), with custom lengths available upon consultation.

• Process Connection: ½" NPT Mounting Thread, Hex Nipple for tank walls, pipe fittings, or conduit

Key Product Differences

The series encompasses distinct probe families including rigidly mounted, spring-loaded, weld pad, hollow-tube, and metal handle probes. The NB1 Replacement Probe family is specifically engineered for ½" NPT protection heads sold separately.

Note: Heads are sold separately for spring-loaded and rigidly mounted probes. For lead wire lengths over 1 m (40"), the model number must be modified with additional cost per foot.
