Supported Applications
The Rotronic HC2 series comprises digital humidity-temperature probes based on AirChip 3000 technology, designed for measurement in dust-free bulk materials. These insertion probes are engineered to interface with the HygroClip 2 generation of ROTRONIC instruments, including hand-held and bench top indicators, data loggers, transmitters, and hygrostats.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The HC2 series operates within a temperature range of -50...100 °C (-58...212 °F) with a humidity measuring range of 0...100 %RH. Accuracy is specified as ±0.8 %RH, ±0.1 K at 10...30 °C for the HC2-S and HC2-S3 models.
Physical dimensions across the series include an overall length of 85 mm (3.3") and a diameter of 15 mm (0.6"). Weights vary by housing material, ranging from 10 g (0.35 oz) for polycarbonate variants to 50 g (1.76 oz) for stainless steel models.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable options regarding sensor technology, housing materials, and filtration to suit specific environmental conditions:
- Sensor Elements: Models utilize either the HYGROMER® IN-1 or HYGROMER® HH-1 sensors.
- Housing Materials: Available in polycarbonate (black or white) and Stainless steel, DIN 1.4301.
- Dust Filtration: Standard filters include Polyethylene (20 μm), Polyethylene (40 μm), MFD fleece, and Wiremesh filter (20...25 μm).
- Outputs & Interfaces: Probes feature a UART serial interface and two 0...1 V linear analog output signals.
Digital interface adapters are available for direct connection to a PC or Ethernet network, while different connectors support stand-alone device use with analog outputs. Configuration and firmware updates require ROTRONIC HW4 software version 2.1.0 or higher (version 3.3.0 or higher for updates).
