Supported Applications
The Pura Transmitters are ultra-pure moisture transmitters designed for the measurement of trace moisture in ultra-high purity gases. The PUR-TX-2W is the Pura Transmitter in its 2-wire, 4-20 mA form, a rugged dew-point sensor for continuous in-line moisture monitoring where even trace levels of water vapour must be detected.
Media handled by the Pura platform include ultra-high purity gases and UHP inert gas, as well as Natural Gas, LPG, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Air, Inert Gases and Hydrocarbons. The transmitter can be installed through an optional sample block or by direct pipeline connection, and a service exchange program is available to reduce maintenance costs.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The standard measurement range is -120...-40 °Cdp, with non-standard ranges available on request. Accuracy is ±1 °C from -40 to -60 °Cdp, ±2 °C from -60 to -100 °Cdp, and ±4 °C from -100 to -120 °Cdp (extrapolated). Each unit ships with a traceable 7-point calibration certificate.
As a 2-wire device the transmitter provides a 4-20 mA output (current source) on a supply voltage of 12...28 V DC, into a load resistance of Max 250 Ω @ 14 V, drawing 23 mA max depending on output signal.

Wetted parts use 316 stainless steel with a cold-drawn, 0.1...0.2 Ra μm electro-polished internal sample block finish, and the housing is 316 stainless steel. Compliance marks include CE & UKCA, and the 2-wire version carries Pura UL approval.
Configuration Options
Within the PUR-TX-2W series the configured builds differ by sensor Version, which sets both the sample-block packaging and the process connection, while sharing identical measurement performance.
- PRM — Double Bagged; mounts to a 1/4" VCR sample block; weighs 450 g
- OEM — Single Bagged; mounts to a 1/4" VCR sample block; weighs 450 g
- SEN — Sensor only, no block; presents a 1/2" male VCR connection; weighs 180 g
All three versions share the -120 to -40°C dp range designated by range code A, so the practical differences between them are packaging, process interface and weight rather than dew-point performance.
Key Product Differences
The lineup is built from the base model PUR-TX-2W (Pura Transmitter 2-wire 4-20 mA), extended by a Version character and a Range character. The following configured variants are offered:
- PUR-TX-2W-AA — PRM (Double Bagged), -120 to -40°C dp range
- PUR-TX-2W-BA — OEM (Single Bagged), -120 to -40°C dp range
- PUR-TX-2W-CA — SEN (Sensor only, no block), -120 to -40°C dp range
As documented in the ordering example, PUR-TX-2W-CA is a Pura Transmitter 4-20mA 2 wire, Sensor only, no block, range -120 to -40°C. This structure was introduced under the ordering code change effective 1st July 2025, with the product description left unchanged for cross-referencing against the previous feature-based codes.
