Supported Applications
The Omega LV600 Series provides pump-up/pump-down level control using a single float switch. The appliance, combined with a pump connected by a flexible cable, regulates the liquid level in which it is immersed. These switches are designed for economical construction and should be used only where product failure risk to equipment or personnel can be minimized; one or two back-up switches are recommended to mitigate failure risks.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The LV600 Series operates within a temperature range of -25 to 50°C (-13 to 122°F) for both ambient and process conditions. The series supports measurement ranges from 15.2 cm (6") to over 30.5 m (over 100"). Fluid compatibility requires a minimum specific gravity of 0.62 for LV610 models and 0.72 for LV620 models.
Performance specifications include:
- Pressure Rating: 75 psig at 21°C (70°F)
- Output Signal: SPDT, rated 15 A @ 250 Vac
- Differential Control: The ON/OFF differential is set by adjusting the cable length; the relay changes state when the float is above or below a fixed point by 80% of the cable length.
- Cycle Life: Capable of switching more than 100,000 times
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable options across housing styles, cable types, and lengths to accommodate specific installation needs.
- Housing Styles: Available in Circular (108 mm x 108 mm x 54.6 mm) or Rectangular (158.5 mm x 105 mm x 40.7 mm) configurations for the LV610 Series.
- Cable Types: Models are offered with PVC Cable (-P suffix) or Neoprene® Cable (-N suffix).
- Cable Lengths: Standard lengths include 0.46 m (1.5 ft), 4.5 m (15 ft), 13.7 m (45 ft), and 18.3 m (60 ft).
- Materials: Polypropylene body with PVC or Neoprene cable.
- Approvals: The internal microswitch relay carries UL and CSA approvals; the series is also homologated in compliance with CEI EN 60730 standards and Directive 93/68/EEC.
Key Product Differences
The LV600 Series distinguishes between two primary model families based on specific gravity requirements:
- LX61x Models (LV611, LV612, etc.): Designed for fluids with a minimum specific gravity of 0.62.
- LX62x Models (LV621, LV622, etc.): Designed for fluids with a higher minimum specific gravity of 0.72.
An optional counterweight accessory (Model LV600-CW) is available on request to assist in installation configurations where required.

Exceptional Product
We have been on the hunt for better "floaters" for our submersible pumps and came across LV600 series. So far it's far superior to what we had been using. Customer service was very knowledgeable and made ordering this simple.
The delivery time as pretty impressive. We received it two days before expected.

Robust SPDT float switch
This is the second time we have used this float for our application. It was one of the few SPDT float switches our electrician could find that is required for our application. We needed one that had three wires so that it could both disable the pump and a motorized valve. The cord has held up so far in the system we installed it in, which is subject to some corrosive acid gases from the decomposing food waste. The float itself seems more robustly built than others I've used in the past.

Is LV622-N class1 div. 11 compliant?
Thank you for contacting Omega Engineering. The LV622-N is not class 1 div 11 compliant.

1. What are the physical dimensions of the LV622-N float switch end? 2. Specific gravity for this unit states .72. Water is 1.0. Can this unit be used in an outdoor buried water cistern tank (at our cottage)? 3. What angle in deg. does switch activate?
Thank you for your inquiry. 1) The LV622-N is 4.25" in diameter and 2.15" in thickness. 2) This float can be used with fluids that have a specific gravity greater than 0.72 so yes, this float can be used in water. 3) The relay changes state when the LV600 is above or below the fixed point by 80% of the cable length. For example, if the cable is fixed for 3 m (10') of free cable, the LV600 will trigger at 2.5 m (8') above and below the fixed point. Thus, turbulence will generally not cause false switching.

Is this float rated for drinking water applications (NSF61)?
Thank you for your inquiry on the level switches. Unfortunately, it is not rated for NSF61 and do not have any level switches available or rated for that approval.
