Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series PS Pressure Snubber is designed to protect pressure instrumentation by dampening surges and pulsations, assuring steady average pressure readings. The series supports a variety of pore sizes for use with air and gases, water and oils, and pulsating gas applications.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series PS snubbers feature filter discs constructed from AISI 316 SS. Maximum pressure ratings are defined by construction material: Brass models support up to 10,000 psi (689 bar), while Stainless Steel (SS) models support up to 15,000 psi (1034 bar). Approximate micron ratings vary by service media:

• Air and gases: 2-5μ
• Water and oils (30-225 SSU): 10μ

The series includes a California Proposition 65 warning regarding exposure to chemicals including Lead.

Configuration Options

Variants within the Series PS are configured by service type and construction material, offering specific process connections and dimensions:

• Process Connections: 1/8" NPT or 1/4" NPT.
• Construction Materials: Brass or SS (Stainless Steel).
• Dimensions for 1/4" NPT models: 3/4" (19 mm) hex size, 1.5" (38 mm) length.

The model numbering convention follows the format PS, where digits indicate service and construction attributes (e.g., PS114, PS214, PS122).

Key Product Differences

Differences across the series are defined by the specific combination of media compatibility and material:

• Air and gases service: Available in Brass (PS114 for 1/8" NPT; PS124 for 1/4" NPT) or SS (PS214 for 1/8" NPT; PS224 for 1/4" NPT).
• Water and oils service: Available in Brass (PS122, 1/4" NPT) or SS (PS222, 1/4" NPT).
• Pulsating gas service: Offered as PS225 with SS construction and 1/4" NPT connection.
