Supported Applications
The Omega PX3005K is a compact, rangeable, digital sanitary pressure transmitter designed for monitoring pressures in food and pharmaceutical industries where a flush diaphragm design is required. The series meets the requirements of 3-A Sanitary Standards for food, beverage, dairy, and pharmaceutical applications. It supports compound gauge measurements suitable for process automation and tank level applications.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The PX3005K features a rugged >316 SS enclosure with an IP67 environmental rating, protecting against harsh environments and washdown conditions. The device operates within an ambient temperature range of -20 to 70°C (-4 to 160°F) and handles media temperatures from -40 to 120°C (-40 to 250°F). Storage is supported between -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F).
Performance specifications include an accuracy of ±0.2TD% SPAN and a sensor response time of 200 mS. Long-term stability is rated at ±0.1% URL / year. The transmitter provides a 5-digit backlit LCD display for full precision representation of the process variable.
Key Performance Metrics
- Accuracy: ±0.2TD% SPAN (±0.2% URL)
- Sensor Response Time: 200 mS
- Damping Time: Selectable, 0 to 100 S
- Vibration Effects: GB/T 1827.3/IEC61298-3 tests, 20g (5-2000HZ, max <3mm) <0.1% URL
- Ambient Temperature Effects (-20°C to 70°C): ±(0.1+0.1TD) % SPAN
- Power Supply Effects: ±0.005TD% SPAN/V (Zero and Span)
Configuration Options
The series is configured for sanitary applications with Tri-Clamp process connections available in 1-1/2" and 2" port sizes. Wetted materials include an isolating diaphragm of 316L SS, a sensor fill fluid of Silicone Oil, and O-ring seals made of FKM. The housing material is >316 SS.
Electrical connectivity utilizes a 4 pin male M12 connection with a power supply range of 10.5 to 55VDC. The output signal is a 4-20mA Two wire configuration, supporting transmission distances up to <1000m and load resistance calculated as <(U-10.5)/0.021.
Available Configurations
- Process Connections: Tri-Clamp (1-1/2" or 2")
- Pressure Ranges: Compound gauge ranges including -5 to 5 psi, -3 to 3 psi, -15 to 15 psi, up to -15 to 300 psi.
- Media Compatibility: Fluids and gases compatible with 316 SS and FKM
- Mounting Position Effects: Apply to any position; install error less than 0.06 psi can be corrected by PV=0 reset.
Key Product Differences
The PX3005K series is distinguished by its specific sanitary design and rangeable capabilities compared to general industrial transmitters. Model numbers follow the format PX3005K - <PORT SIZE> - <PRESSURE RANGE> - <PRESSURE TYPE>, such as PX3005K01-005GI or PX3005K02-003GI. The "01" and "02" designators in the model number correspond to 1-1/2" and 2" port sizes, respectively.
While other Omega pressure transmitters may offer different connection types or output signals (e.g., 0-10V), the PX3005K is specifically engineered with a flush diaphragm design for CIP (Clean-in-Place) applications and includes an integrated LCD display module as standard.

Can the transducer be sent in for calibration?
Yes! This can be sent in for calibration to our Ohio Branch. I will need a part number, serial number, the type of calibration (compression/ tension/ system calibration), and your contact information and will then send you an estimate and a materials handling sheet to fill out. Feel free to send this information to cservice@omega.com and we will be happy to assist you with creating a return number. Thanks for your inquiry!
