Supported Applications
The Omega FT-HFC-12 Series consists of thermoplastic quick couplings designed for high-volume fluid handling. These polypropylene fittings are engineered to be chemically resistant, require low force to couple, and are gamma sterilizable. Documented applications include drain lines, filling lines, waste handling, chemical transfer, photo processing chemicals, spray equipment, and cooling lines.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within a process temperature range of Minimum 0°C (32°F) to Maximum 110°C (230°F). Pressure ratings vary by operating temperature as defined in the FT-HFC Series Pressure to Temperature table: at 10°C (50°F), working pressure is 60 psi (4.1 bar); at 37.8°C (100°F), it is 50 psi (3.4 bar); at 65.4°C (150°F), it is 40 psi (2.8 bar); at 93.3°C (200°F), it is 30 psi (2.1 bar); and at 121.1°C (250°F), it is 20 psi (1.4 bar). The series supports vacuum conditions.
Flow performance for the connected body and insert configuration shows a pressure drop of 0 psi at 7.5 liters per minute (2 gallons per minute) water flow, increasing to 30 psi (2.1 bar) at 53 liters per minute (14 gallons per minute). The fittings are compatible with PVC, Silicone, Reinforced PVC, and Polyurethane tubing.
Configuration Options
The FT-HFC-12 Series is available in multiple configurations to accommodate different piping requirements. Key variant dimensions include:
- Housing Material: Polypropylene with EPR seals (others available) and 316 Stainless Steel springs.
- Process Connections: Male Pipe Thread Body (NPT), Hose Barb Body, Bulkhead Panel Mount Hose Barb Body, Male Pipe Thread Insert, Hose Barb Insert, and Elbow Hose Barb Insert.
- Sizes: NPT sizes include 3/8", 1/2", and 3/4". Tubing ID sizes range from 3/8" (9.5 mm) to 3/4" (19 mm).
- Bulkhead Mounting: Requires a panel thickness of 0.030" to 0.25", with a mounting hole diameter of 1.87" and gasket dimensions of 1.30" diameter by 0.06" thickness.
- Model Numbering: Follows the format FT-HFC--<Thread or Tubing Size>-<Shutoff Option>, such as FT-HFC106-12 (Straight Thru) and FT-HFCD106-12 (Shutoff).
The series includes both Straight Thru models and Shutoff models across all body types. Patented design is covered by U.S. and international patents.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the FT-HFC-12 Series are distinguished primarily by connection type, tubing size, and flow control features:
- Coupling Bodies vs. Inserts: The series offers separate Body models (e.g., Hose Barb Body) and Insert models (e.g., Male Pipe Thread Insert). Lengths for bodies range from 2.72 to 3.07 inch, while inserts range from 1.76 to 2.14 inch depending on the configuration.
- Straight Thru vs. Shutoff: Each connection size and type is available in a standard Straight Thru version (model numbers ending without 'D') or with an integrated shutoff valve (model numbers containing 'D', e.g., FT-HFCD106-12).
- Bulkhead Panel Mount: Specific to the Bulkhead Panel Mount Hose Barb Body, this variation includes a gasket and specific mounting hole requirements distinct from standard hose barb or threaded bodies.
Note: Polypropylene coupling halves do not interchange with other materials. RoHS compliance is determined by individual model number.

Quality Product
This is the second purchase. I used the same product for three years on a different part of my lawn and turf sprayer.

Where do you order "O-rings"? Are the O-rings the same for all sizes?
Regarding the size of the O-rings; the O-ring will have different dimensions depending on the OD/ID of the couplings. Our Tech Support agent has connected with you and provided an email to our spare parts department for price and lead on the O-ring you looking for. Thanks for shopping Omega.
