Supported Applications
OMEGA multi-pressure pneumatic in-line flowmeters monitor air flow rates to determine optimum performance, flow regulator settings, or overall pneumatic system performance. Built with a rugged anodized aluminum body, they install easily in-line and are intended for air and compressed gas applications.
Their multi-pressure scales — from 2.75 to 9 bar — let operators read accurate flow directly without conversion charts across a wide band of supply pressures. This makes the series ideal for compressed-air distribution, tool and actuator supply monitoring, and process gas metering. The units are RoHS compliant, ship complete with an operator's manual, and can be ordered with an optional NIST traceable certificate.
Do NOT use Aromatic Hydrocarbons, Halogenated Hydrocarbons, Ketones or Ester-based fluids on (or near) the polycarbonate guard, and do NOT use Loctite thread locker or liquid teflon as thread sealant.
Operating Conditions & Performance
Accuracy is ±2% FS with repeatability of ±1%. The temperature rating is 116°C maximum and the pressure rating is 69 bar maximum. Across the family, flow ranges span from 0.5-5 SCFM up to 100 to 1000 SCFM, so a single scale style covers everything from small tool circuits to large-volume supply lines.
Wetted materials are an anodized aluminum cone and piston, a 302 SS spring, and a polyphenylene sulfide/ceramic magnet, housed in an anodized aluminum body with a dichromate-sealed anodized aluminum finish. The magnetic coupling between the flow indicator and piston means the unit should not be installed within 2 ft. of electrical transformers, high-strength motors, or other electro-magnetic devices.
Configuration Options
The lineup is organized into three body sizes distinguished by port size, physical envelope, and flow capacity. All share the same ±2% FS accuracy, 69 bar pressure rating, and 116°C temperature rating.
- FL6900A (½" port): a 61 x 53 mm body, 168 mm in length, weighing 567 g, covering flow ranges from 3 to 25 SCFM up to 15 to 150 SCFM.
- FL7900A (¾" port): a 74 x 64 mm body, 183 mm in length, weighing 0.9 kg, covering flow ranges from 3 to 25 SCFM up to 25 to 250 SCFM.
- FL8900A (1¼" port): a 119 x 104 mm body, 310 mm in length, weighing 3.3 kg, covering flow ranges from 20 to 200 SCFM up to 100 to 1000 SCFM.
For units with BSPP threads, add the suffix "-BSPP" to the model number (no additional cost); for a NIST traceable certificate, add the suffix "-NIST" (for additional cost).

can it be used for low flow nitrogen
Thanks for connecting with Omega. Yes, the FL6911A will work with Nitrogen flow (please note the range 10-100 SCFM). However, we would need to know more about your application and what your minimum flow or pressure is. Please contact our Tech Support or email flow@omega.com so we can help to further assist you with this application.
