Supported Applications

The Omega OMPM-DCE Series consists of Permanent Magnet SCR Rated DC Motors designed for applications requiring torque throughout the speed range and adjustable dynamic braking. These motors are specifically engineered for use with SCR controllers.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates at a rated speed of 1750 RPM across the available horsepower ratings. Torque is rated at 1750 RPM, calculated as HP*5252/RPM. The motors feature Class F insulation and are constructed with heavy-duty permanently lubricated and sealed ball bearings to support long motor life.

  • Control Voltage: 90 V or 180 V
  • Horsepower Range: ¼ HP to 2 HP (as documented in the To Order table)
  • Torque Output: Ranges from 0.75 ft lbs at ¼ HP up to 6 ft lbs at 2 HP, depending on model configuration

Configuration Options

The OMPM-DCE Series is offered with TEFC (Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled) enclosures. The construction includes heavy-duty gauge steel for frames, endbells, mounting bases, junction boxes, and covers. A removable base made of extra-strength steel reduces vibration.

Encoder Mounting Options

The series provides provisions for encoder mounting with the following NPN pick-up sensor options:

  • OMDC-PU-2E: 1 pulse per revolution
  • OMDC-PU-4E: 2 pulses per revolution
  • OMDC-PU-20E: 10 pulses per revolution
  • OMDC-PU-40E: 20 pulses per revolution
  • OMDC-PU-20EQUAD: NPN quadrature, 10 pulses per revolution

Housing and Electrical Connections

All models feature an all-steel constructed junction box and cover as well as a fan cover. The series supports UL, CSA, and RoHS certifications.

Variants within the OMPM-DCE Series differ by horsepower rating (¼ HP through 2 HP), control voltage (90 V or 180 V), armature full load amps, weight, and torque output.
