Product Overview
  • Series ID CP-DPP-RHS-RHP-RS

Supported Applications

The Omega CP, DPP, RHP, RHS, and RS series comprises panel punches and hole saws designed for creating precise cutouts in aluminum and mild steel panels. These tools facilitate the mounting of thermocouple connectors, DIN-size controllers, and panel meters.

  • Rectangular connector installations (CP Series)
  • DIN size controller openings (DPP Series)
  • Round connector and meter mounts (RHP and RHS Series)

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series is engineered for clean, precise cutouts in aluminum and mild steel panels. The tools are not designed for use with pneumatic impact tools; manual operation is required to maintain dimensional accuracy.

Cutout dimensions across the series range from 8.1 x 16.8 mm (0.318 x 0.661) up to 92 x 92 mm (3.622 x 3.622), with tolerances specified as ±0.001 inch in the source documentation.

Configuration Options

DIN Size Panel Punches (DPP Series)

  • DPP-1: ½ DIN size, cutout dimensions 22.5 x 45 mm (0.886 x 1.772), pilot hole 12.7 mm (½).
  • DPP-2: ¾ DIN size, cutout dimensions 22.5 x 68 mm (0.886 x 2.677), pilot hole 12.7 mm (½).
  • DPP-3: 1 DIN size, cutout dimensions 22.5 x 92 mm (0.886 x 3.622), pilot hole 12.7 mm (½).
  • DPP-4: ¼ DIN Square, cutout dimensions 45 x 45 mm (1.772 x 1.772), pilot hole 19 mm (¾).
  • DPP-5: ½ DIN size, cutout dimensions 45 x 92 mm (1.772 x 3.622), pilot hole 19 mm (¾).
  • DPP-6: 1 DIN size, cutout dimensions 92 x 92 mm (3.622 x 3.622), pilot hole 19 mm (¾).

Rectangular Connectors (CP Series)

The CP series supports various rectangular connector types including SMP, NMP, OSTW, OTP, JP, TPJ, NHX, and SHX.

  • CP-1: 8.1 x 16.8 mm (0.318 x 0.661) for SMP/SMPW; pilot hole 6.35 mm (¼).
  • CP-2: 9.5 x 16.7 mm (0.375 x 0.656) for NMP; pilot hole 7.9 mm (⅝).
  • CP-3 to CP-8 cover dimensions from 13.1 x 36.8 mm up to 16.4 x 26 mm with corresponding connector compatibility.

Hole Saws and Round Connectors

The RHS series provides hole saws, while the RHP series offers round punches for specific meter diameters.

  • RHS-43: 43 mm (1⅝) diameter for CN77R3 & R5 Panel Meters; pilot hole 6.35 mm (¼).
  • RHS-58 and RHS-78: Diameters of 15.87 mm (0.625) and 22.22 mm (0.875) respectively.
  • RS Series replacement saws are available for the RHS series models RS-58 and RS-78.

Safety & Usage Notes

The documentation explicitly states: "DO NOT USE PNEUMATIC IMPACT TOOLS WITH THESE PUNCHES!" Additionally, these products are not designed for human applications. Omega accepts no liability for errors in the document and reserves the right to alter specifications without prior notice.

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes between punch types (CP, DPP, RHP) and hole saws (RHS), with specific model numbers assigned to each cutout dimension and target device. The RS series serves as replacement blades for the RHS hole saws.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NEEDS IMPROVEMENT THE PUNCH DID CUT A HOLE IN THE PANEL BUT IT BECAME WEDGED IN THE HOLE IT MADE. HAD TO REMOVE THE TOOL WITH A HAMMER. WILL NOT USE IT EVER AGAIN.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty good punch I've used the 1/4 DIN punch for a few years now and am very happy with it. Excellent value and always a clean hole. It has worked on all the 14 ga panels I have tried so far. I have used it 20+ times. The threads are getting a little galled now but I just oil them then start tightening. Not sure if your supposed to, but I use a heavy duty air impact wrench, way easier and less twisting on the panel hinges or whatever part of the panel structure you are punching.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor durability I bought the CP-5. I tried to punch a hole in a Hoffman 3 door standing enclosure and the punch broke on the first try. Apparently it is unable to handle that guage steel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Engineering/Fabrication A better design would be to have no step on the outside surface of Die so it could pull all the way through the punched hole. Thus allowing easier removal of tool after punching hole.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My best tool Hello I have using the panle punch 45 x 45 mms and it works perfect

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Broke on the First Use The bolt used to pull the punch through the panel broke on the first use. It was being using on a 14awg mild steel panel and operated by hand. I would have rated it 1 star, but Omega made it easy to return the product for a refund.
