Supported Applications
The Omega TL-8-Dot series consists of non-reversible temperature labels designed to provide a permanent visual indication when a specific maximum temperature has been reached. These water-resistant indicators are intended for applications requiring simple, irreversible thermal monitoring without electronic instrumentation.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The TL-8-Dot series features an 8-dot display format that changes color to indicate exposure to the rated threshold temperatures available in this line. The labels are specified as water resistant and non-reversible, meaning the visual change remains permanent even if the temperature subsequently drops below the activation point.
Configuration Options
The series is offered with specific maximum temperature ratings identified within the part number structure of each variant:
- Temperature Ratings: 105°F, 170°F, 250°F, 330°F, and 410°F.
- Packaging Quantities: Each temperature rating is available in packs of 10 or 50 units.
The part number suffix indicates the quantity: "-10" denotes a pack of 10, and "-50" denotes a pack of 50. The numeric portion preceding the hyphen corresponds to the Fahrenheit temperature rating (e.g., TL-E-250).
Key Product Differences
Variants within the TL-8-Dot series differ solely by their activation temperature threshold and package quantity. All models share the same 8-dot visual format, non-reversible operation, and water-resistant construction.

Shelf Life: 12 months from invoice date when stored at room temperature and humidity [i.e. 21°C (70°F) and 50% relative humidity] Our warehouse is temperature is <25oC and <80% RH. How will this impact the shelf life?
Thank you for your inquiry. Storing this product outside of the instructed environment may result in its inability to function properly.

Can these labels be spliced for smaller areas?
Thank you for your inquiry. Non-Reversible Temperature labels cannot be cut, spliced or altered or the label will be damaged and not function per design specifications. There are smaller label series you can review.

Is there a pressure limitation on these strips? Can they be placed inside a pressure vessel?
Thank you for your inquiry. These labels are not pressure rated and cannot be exposed to a pressure higher than atmospheric pressure as that will activate the labels points prematurely. We do not recommend the use of the labels in a pressurized environment.

About how long a dwell time is needed for the indicator to change? I think it's between 1 and 2 seconds, but I thought this might be something known and predictable. Reason I am asking is we see a difference at higher line speeds with IR gun. Thanks.
Thank you for your inquiry. These units have an activation time of one second or less.

Can these labels be used in medium vacuum environment (<10 mmHg)?
Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, these labels cannot be used in vacuum environment.

At what temperature will these labels ignite or melt? I'm interested in what the material limit of the label is. Thank you.
Thank you for your inquiry. Labels that measure below 356°F will not melt/burn until it reaches this value. Labels that measure below 428°F will not melt/burn until it reaches this value.
