Product Overview
- Series ID Series-WE06
Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series WE06 is a 3-piece NPT stainless steel V-port ball valve designed for high flow rates with minimal pressure drop. The series incorporates quarter-turn control technology to provide bubble-tight shut-off with zero leakage, capable of withstanding high pressure drops in service involving compatible liquids, gases, and steam.
Actuators are directly mounted to create a compact assembly suitable for tight spaces. Limit switches can be mounted directly to the valves to allow for remote position indication. The Series WE06 is configured with either electric or pneumatic actuators to automate valve positioning in process control applications.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within a pressure range of 20" Hg to 1000 psi (-0.7 to 69 bar) up to 250°F, with a specified process temperature limit of -20 to 392°F (-29 to 200°C). Ambient operating temperatures are rated from -22 to 140°F (-30 to 60°C).
Flow characteristics vary by ball angle; the series offers both 60° and 90° V-port balls, which provide an equal percentage flow characteristic. Flow coefficients (Cv) range from 7.9 gal/min at 60° for a 1/2" size to 308.3 gal/min at 90° for a 3" size.
Wetted Materials

- Stem: 316 SS
- Seat: RTFE/PTFE
- Seal, Washer, and Packing: PTFE
- O-Ring: Fluoroelastomer
Configuration Options
The Series WE06 is available in line sizes from 1/2" to 3" with Female NPT end connections. The series supports multiple actuation methods, including hand-operated models and automated configurations.
Pneumatic Actuators
- Double Acting (DA): Uses air supply for both opening and closing; normal supply pressure is 40 to 115 psi. Air connections are 1/8" female NPT (DA01) or 1/4" female NPT (DA02 to DA05).
- Spring Return (SR): Uses air supply to open the valve with internally loaded springs returning it to a closed position. Normal operation is FAIL CLOSED; orientation can be changed to FAIL OPEN by rotating racks 180°. Supply pressure is 80 psi.
- Housing: Anodized aluminum body and epoxy coated aluminum end caps, rated for -40 to 176°F (-40 to 80°C).
Electric Actuators
- Two-Position (TD): Uses supply voltage to drive the valve open or closed. Standard features include manual override, position indicator, and two limit switches.
- Modulating (MD/MI): Accepts a 4 to 20 mA input for precise valve positioning. MI models are explosion-proof; MD models are not available in 24 VDC.
- Voltage Options: Available in 110 VAC, 220 VAC, 24 VAC, and 24 VDC (where applicable).
Housing Ratings & Materials
- NEMA 4X: Weatherproof electric actuators with powder coated aluminum housing.
- NEMA 7: Explosion-proof electric actuators designed to meet hazardous locations: Class I, Group C & D; Class II, Group E, F, & G; Division I & II. Housing is powder coated aluminum rated for -40 to 140°F (-40 to 60°C).
Options and Accessories
The series supports the addition of an SV3 solenoid valve to electrically switch air supply pressure between ports. Other available options include limit switches, manual override mechanisms, and position indicators.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the Series WE06 are distinguished by actuator type (hand-operated, pneumatic double-acting, spring return, electric two-position, or modulating), line size, V-ball angle (60° vs 90°), and electrical voltage requirements.
- Model Numbering: The series uses a structured code: WE06 - [Size/Actuator] - [V-Ball Angle] - [Electric Voltage]. For example, -T denotes 60° V-ball and -N denotes 90° V-ball.
- Housing Distinction: Electric actuators are offered in NEMA 4X (weatherproof) or NEMA 7 (explosion-proof) configurations, with the latter required for hazardous location applications.
- Pneumatic Logic: Spring return models default to a fail-closed state unless mechanically reconfigured; double-acting models require air pressure on both ports to move in either direction.
