Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series HFPC and HFPS are clear body, in-line variable area flowmeters designed for measuring compatible liquids. These units feature dual scales displaying measurements in both GPM (gallons per minute) and LPM (liters per minute). The series is engineered for indoor use only or areas without direct sunlight, as the polycarbonate and polysulfone materials are adversely affected by ultraviolet light.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series HFPC and HFPS operate within specific temperature limits based on body material: 200°F (93°C) for the HFPC polycarbonate models and 250°F (121°C) for the HFPS polysulfone models. Both series support a maximum pressure of 325 psig (22.4 bar). Performance specifications include an accuracy of ±5% FS and repeatability of ±1% FS.

Available flow ranges cover:

• .5 to 5 GPM (1 to 19 LPM)
• 1 to 10 GPM (3.8 to 38 LPM)
• 2 to 15 GPM (7.5 to 55 LPM)
• 3 to 30 GPM (11 to 113 LPM)

To retain accuracy and repeatability, internal moving parts require filtration of at least 74 micron or a 200 mesh screen. The series is not field serviceable; units requiring repair must be returned.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable wetted materials, process connections, and optional accessories to suit specific installation needs.

Wetted Materials

• HFPC: Polycarbonate body, Buna-N seals, Stainless Steel spring, Polysulfone connections.
• HFPS: Polysulfone body, Buna-N seals, Stainless Steel spring, Polysulfone connections.

Process Connections

The series supports multiple connection types and sizes. Standard configurations include female NPT in 1/2", 3/4", and 1". Male NPT connections (1/2", 3/4", 1") are available with brass connections only. Female BSPP connections are offered in 1/2", 3/4", and 1".

Options

Meters can be mounted in any position, including with downward flow. Standard models weigh 1 lb (453.6 g), while models with optional brass connections weigh 2 lb (907 g).

The primary distinction between the two model families is the body material and corresponding temperature rating:

• HFPC Series: Features a polycarbonate body with a maximum process temperature of 200°F (93°C).
• HFPS Series: Features a polysulfone body, allowing for higher operating temperatures up to 250°F (121°C).

Model numbers follow the format HF - [Series] - [Wetted Parts] - [Connection] - [Range] - [Option]. For example, HFPC-1-1-BC denotes a polycarbonate body with 1/2" female NPT connection and brass connections option.
