Product Overview
The Series CLT Continuous Level Transmitter is engineered for precision, custom-configured tank level monitoring in industrial applications including oil & gas, hydrocarbon storage, low-specific-gravity fluids, chemical feed, and general liquid storage. With selectable outputs (4-20 mA current or proportional voltage) and broad material options, it adapts to demanding installations requiring continuous rather than discrete high/low switching.
At the heart of the CLT is a float-and-reed-switch assembly contained within a sealed hollow stem. As the float ascends or descends with liquid level, it actuates reed switches which, in conjunction with a resistor network, provide a voltage or current output proportional to the level reading.
Installation is straightforward: the unit can be supplied in lengths up to 72″ overall (with up to 68″ indication length), with user-specified distances from bottom mount to float stop, and float spacing to suit tank geometry. Available in either ½″ NPT, 1-1/4″ NPT, 2″ NPT or 3″ 150# flange mounting (depending on construction) to match process connections.
Material options allow tailoring for fluid type and system condition: Choose stems/floats in 316 stainless steel for higher pressure or corrosive media (up to 300 psig), or Buna-N floats with brass stems for less demanding services (up to 150 psig). Temperature ratings likewise vary with material: e.g., Buna-N float water service up to 180 °F, or with oil service -40 °F to 230 °F.
Electrical interface is user-friendly: current output units require 10-40 VDC and feature a junction box rated NEMA 4 (IP56). Voltage output models require 10-30 VDC and provide free leads. Loop resistance is rated up to 1.4 kΩ.
