Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series A7 Mini Pressure Switches are designed for high current applications and are described as ideal for OEM use. These compact, lightweight switches utilize a diaphragm-actuated snap-action mechanism to monitor pressure in non-hazardous gas or liquid services.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series A7 operates within a measurement range of 0.25 to 15.0 psi with a maximum pressure limit of 50 psig (3.45 bar). The process temperature limits are specified as 14 to 185°F (-10 to 85°C), and the enclosure rating is General purpose.
Performance characteristics include:
- Hysteresis (Deadband): 0.6 to 0.8 in w.c. (1.5 to 2 mbar)
- Repeatability: ±10% of setpoint
- Mounting Orientation: The switch can be installed in any position.
- Weight: 0.04 lb (0.02 kg)
The wetted materials consist of silicone and nylon, compatible with non-hazardous gas or liquid media.
Configuration Options
The Series A7 is a configurable series built to specification with factory-preset set points that are not field adjustable. The model number structure defines the specific configuration:
- Switch Type: SPDT or SPST - NO.
- Electrical Ratings: 5A @ 125/250 VAC (code 3) or 22A @ 125/250 VAC (code 5).
- Process Connections:
- 4 mm tube O.D. push on (side)
- 1/8" male NPT (bottom)
- 1/4" male NPT and 4 mm tube O.D. push on (bottom)
- Electrical Connection: 6.35 mm male Q.C. tabs.
- Housing Material: Nylon with a silicone diaphragm.
Note: Set points lower than 0.70 psi are only available with electrical rating code 3 (5A @ 125/250 VAC). The minimum quantity order is 100 units.
Key Product Differences
Variations within the Series A7 are defined by the selection of switch type, electrical current rating, process connection style, and factory-set pressure point. Physical dimensions vary based on the selected process connection:
- Connection 1 (4 mm tube O.D.): Height 1-3/8 [34.8], Length 1-7/8 [47.4], Width 1-13/32 [35.56].
- Connection 2 (1/8" male NPT): Height 1-13/16 [46], Length 1-7/8 [47.4].
- Connection 3 (1/4" male NPT and 4 mm tube O.D.): Height 1-3/4 [44.2], Length 1-7/8 [47.4].
The Series A7 is not field serviceable; if repair is needed, the unit should be returned to Dwyer with a return good authorization number.
