Can this cable be used to warm a box of damp sand? The temperature range is from 17º to a maximum of 30º. The sand is insulated on the bottom with Silverboard and seed trays lie on top of the sand.

Asked by: Berto
Hi Berto, Thank you for the inquiry. This would not be a good application for the heat tracing. Please email heaters@omega.com or call us for assistance with the application. Best regards OMEGA

Can this heat tape overlap itself without burning out?

Asked by: jrp21c
Hi JRP21C The tape will regulate down when encountering hot spots. So it is more resistant to burn out than constant watt style. Best to avoid overlaps by use of splice and t boxes at branches. Best regards OMEGA

Can this be used on 1/4'' stainless steel tube, maintaining a temp of 60°C?

It should be OK but to maintain at 60C you would need some type of sensor and Controller or Thermal switch to maintain that temperature.
