Supported Applications
The Omega ON-931 series consists of two-wire bolt-on thermistor surface sensors designed for temperature measurement on flat surfaces. The product overview identifies specific applications including product performance testing, climate control and HVAC systems, printed circuit board manufacturing, cable manufacturing, and environmental chamber temperature measurement.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within a process temperature range of -80 to 100°C. Accuracy varies by resistance suffix: models with the standard accuracy class offer ± 0.2°C over the full -80 to 100°C span, while high-accuracy variants provide ± 0.1°C but are limited to a narrower operating window of -80 to 75°C.
Key performance parameters include:
- Measurement Range: -80 to 100°C (standard accuracy); -80 to 75°C (high accuracy).
- Accuracy Class: ± 0.2°C or ± 0.1°C depending on the selected resistance suffix.
- Housing Material: Aluminum flag housing with an improved design for strain relief and pull strength.
Configuration Options
The ON-931 series is configurable across sensor element values, mounting hole sizes, cable lengths, and electrical termination styles. The model number guide follows the format: ON-931 - <Resistance Suffix> - <Cable Length> - <Screw Size Suffix>.
<h4>Sensor Elements (Resistance Suffix)</h4>The series supports multiple resistance values at 25°C, paired with specific accuracy and range limits:
- ± 0.2°C Accuracy (-80 to 100°C): Available in 2252 Ω (suffix -44004), 3000 Ω (-44005), 5000 Ω (-44007), 10,000 Ω (-44006), and 30,000 Ω (-44008).
- ± 0.1°C Accuracy (-80 to 75°C): Available in 2252 Ω (suffix -44033), 3000 Ω (-44030), 5000 Ω (-44034), 10,000 Ω (-44031), and 30,000 Ω (-44032).
Sensors are installed by bolting or cementing onto flat surfaces. The standard bolt hole accepts #3 and #4 screws (hole dimension: 0.116 in.). Alternative screw sizes require specific suffixes:
- None: Standard configuration for #3 and #4 screws.
- -H147: Hole dimension of 0.147 in., compatible with #5 and #6 screws.
- -H170: Hole dimension of 0.170 in., compatible with #8 screws.
The mounting body dimensions are 0.31 in. x 0.31 in., and the barrel measures 0.562 in. by 0.190 in.
<h4>Cable and Electrical Options</h4>Standard cable length is 40 inches, constructed from PFA coated duplex wire (26 AWG). Longer lengths are available as an option. The default electrical connection features stripped ends; a phone plug connector can be added by appending the “-PP” suffix to the model number.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the ON-931 series differ primarily in their resistance value, accuracy class, and mounting hole size. The high-accuracy models (± 0.1°C) are distinguished by a reduced maximum operating temperature of 75°C compared to the standard ± 0.2°C models which extend to 100°C. Additionally, specific SKUs incorporate suffixes for non-standard screw sizes (-H147, -H170) or phone plug connectors (-PP), while others maintain stripped wire ends.

I am looking for a thermistor that can be powered by 5VDC (up to 5mA). The datalogger manufacturer (Trimble) indicates they accept input type: Thermistor Measuring range: 0 to 2 MΩ
Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, these thermistors have a operating current range of approximately 10 to 15 μA.
