Supported Applications
The Omega ON-901 Series consists of rugged, vinyl-tipped thermistor sensors designed for temperature measurement. The series is well suited for biological, geographic, and oceanographic applications.
Operating Conditions & Performance
Sensors in the standard configuration operate within a process temperature range of 0 to 70°C (32 to 158°F) with an interchangeability of ±0.2°C across this span. The maximum working temperature for these units is rated at 100°C (212°F). For applications requiring tighter tolerance, optional thermistor elements provide an interchangeability of ±0.1°C over the same 0 to 70°C range; however, their maximum working temperature is limited to 75°C (165°F).
Storage and operating conditions for best stability with these optional high-precision elements are specified as -80 to 75°C (-112.4 to 165°F). The probe tip features a white vinyl coat, and the cable is constructed of vinyl insulation, shielding, and a vinyl jacket.
Standard Resistance Specifications
The series offers five standard resistance values at 25°C:
- ON-901-44004: 2252 Ω
- ON-901-44005: 3000 Ω
- ON-901-44007: 5000 Ω
- ON-901-44006: 10,000 Ω
- ON-901-44008: 30,000 Ω
Configuration Options
The ON-901 Series is configurable across resistance values, cable lengths, and termination types. Standard models include stripped wire ends.
- Cable Lengths: Available in 300 mm (12") or 1 m (40"). Additional custom lengths are supported by appending the required length in inches to the model number.
- Connectors: Stripped wires are standard; a phone plug connector is available as an option by adding "-PP" to the model number.
- Precision Options: Tighter interchangeability (±0.1°C) is achieved by substituting specific thermistor part numbers from the optional table, such as 44033 through 44032 series elements.
The probe tip dimensions are specified with a diameter of 4.8 mm (3/16 in) and a maximum length of 8 mm (5/16 in).

Variants within the series differ primarily by resistance value, interchangeability class, cable length, and connector type.
- Standard Interchangeability: Models ending in 44004 through 44008 provide ±0.2°C accuracy at a maximum temperature of 100°C (212°F).
- Precision Interchangeability: Models utilizing optional thermistor codes (e.g., 44030, 44033) offer ±0.1°C interchangeability but are limited to a maximum working temperature of 75°C (165°F).
- Cable Configuration: Base model numbers denote standard lengths; suffixes such as "-40" indicate the 1 m (40") length, while custom inch-based suffixes allow for extended runs.
