Supported Applications
The OM-2628 Series is an Integrated Circuit Temperature Probe built around the AD592CN transducer — a two-terminal monolithic integrated circuit that provides an output current proportional to absolute temperature. It is designed for applications requiring high accuracy, linearity, and stability over a wide temperature range with minimal self-heating errors.
Because the transducer behaves as a high-impedance current source, it tolerates long lead runs and voltage drops without loss of signal, which suits appliance, automotive, and HVAC temperature sensing as well as general-purpose electronic temperature measurement.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The probe measures temperature over -25 to 105°C (-13 to 221°F) and outputs 1 µA/K, with a nominal current output of 298.2 µA typical at 25°C (298.2 K). Repeatability is 0.1°C (0.18°F) typical and long-term stability is 0.1°C/month (0.18°F) typical.
- Accuracy: 0.5°C (0.9°F) maximum @ 25°C (77°F); 0.15°C (0.27°F) maximum @ 0 to 70°C (32 to 158°F).
- Operating temperature: -25°C (-13°F) minimum, 105°C (221°F) maximum.
- Storage (package) temperature: -45°C (-49°F) minimum, 125°C (257°F) maximum.
- Power supply: 4 to 30V (4V minimum, 30V maximum).
- Forward voltage (+ to -): 44V maximum.
- Reverse voltage (- to +): 20V maximum.
Supply-voltage sensitivity is low: rejection is 0.2°C (0.36°F)/V maximum for 5V < Vs < 15V and 0.1°C (0.18°F)/V maximum for 15V < Vs < 30V. The probe body has a 6.4 mm (¼") diameter, and the temperature coefficient is 1 µA/°C typical.
Configuration Options
All models use the same AD592CN transducer and share the -25 to 105°C (-13 to 221°F) measurement range and accuracy behavior; the models differ in probe length and lead length rather than in sensing performance.
- Probe length: the C1 configuration is a 38 mm (1.5 in) probe, while the C6 configuration is a longer 153 mm (6 in) probe, both 6.4 mm (¼") in diameter.
- Lead length: the base configurations are supplied with 0.91 m (36") leads, and extended lead-length configurations of the C1 probe are offered with 72" and 144" leads.

Probes work well, no issues yet. I wish they had longer lead wire.

What kind of controller would accept this probe? 4-20ma? I am currently using a plc with a temperature module and a 100 ohm rtd sensor which is very vulnerable to noise. My sensor wire run is about 30ft.
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, this probe was only used with an obsolete Data Acquisition board that interfaced with AD592 sensors and there is no controller available to monitor this sensor.
