Supported Applications
The Omega LC101 Series consists of all stainless steel 'S' Beam load cells designed for tension and compression applications. These sensors are engineered for harsh industrial environments, offering high accuracy at an economical price point. The series supports measurement ranges from 0-25 lb to 0-40,000 lb (0-10 kgf to 0-10,000 kgf) and is available in both standard inch-pound and metric models.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The LC101 Series operates within an ambient temperature range of -40 to 93°C (-40 to 200°F), with a compensated temperature range of 17 to 71°C (60 to 160°F). Thermal effects are specified as Zero: 0.002% FSO/°C and Span: 0.002% FSO/°C. The load cells feature an input resistance of 350 ±10 Ω and output resistance of 350 ±10 Ω, with a full-scale deflection between 0.010 to 0.020".
Performance specifications include:
- Linearity: ±0.03% FSO (±0.1% for the 40 K model)
- Hysteresis: ±0.05% FSO (±0.1% for the 40 K model)
- Repeatability: ±0.01% FSO (±0.05% for the 40 K model)
- Zero Balance: ±1% FSO
- Safe Overload: 150% of capacity
- Ultimate Overload: 300% of capacity
The series provides NIST Standard traceable calibration, including a 5-point calibration in tension and a 59 kΩ shunt resistor for data verification.
Configuration Options
The LC101 Series is constructed from 17-4 PH stainless steel to withstand demanding conditions. It offers two primary electrical interface configurations:
- Cable Output (LC101/LCM101): Features a 4-conductor shielded cable with lengths and wire gauges varying by capacity: <100 kgf/250 lb uses 9 m (30') of 24 AWG; 250 to 1000 kgf/250 to 2000 lb uses 9 m (30') of 20 AWG; and ≥1500 kgf/3000 lb uses 4.5 m (15') of 20 AWG.
- Connector Output (LC111/LCM111): Available with a mating connector option sold separately. Models ≤100 kgf/200 lb utilize the PT06F8-4S-R (4-pin) connector, while models ≥250 kgf/250 lb use the PT06F10-6S-R (6-pin) connector.
Optional accessories include load buttons and rod ends to facilitate specific mounting requirements. Load button options range from LBC-014 for ¼-28 threads up to LBC-114 for 1¼-12 threads, with metric equivalents (MLBC-M6 through MLBC-M24) available for the MCM series.
Key Product Differences
The series is divided into standard inch-pound models and metric models. Standard models are designated as LC101 (cable output) or LC111 (connector output), while metric variants use LCM101 and LCM111 prefixes respectively.
- Standard Models: Capacities range from 25 lb to 40,000 lb. Thread sizes vary by capacity: ¼-28 (25–200 lb), ½-20 (250–2.5K lb), ⅝-18 (3K–5K lb), 1-14 (10K–30K lb), and 1¼-12 (40K lb).
- Metric Models: Capacities range from 10 kgf to 10,000 kgf. Thread sizes include M6 x 1.00 (10–100 kgf), M12 x 1.75 (250–1000 kgf), M16 x 2.0 (1500–2000 kgf), and M24 x 2.00 (5K–10K kgf).
Model numbers follow the format SERIES-CAPACITY-CONNECTOR/CABLE-OPTIONS. For example, LC101-2K denotes a standard cable-output model with 2,000 lb capacity. To order the connector style instead of the cable, change the prefix to LC111 or LCM111 at no extra charge; mating connectors are sold separately.

The S beam load cell
I received my load cell several weeks ago and it is well worth the value. The accuracy, durability, and workmanship are outstanding.

Great load cell, when it is available in time.
We have several of these in our product test lab, and they work great, just as described. They are accurate. We excite them with an Omron 12V power supply and feed the signal into a National Instrument C Series analog input module. My only gripe is lead time. We have had to choose a less-than-optimal load range and the hard-wired cord instead of the bayonet lug because the one we wanted was 4, 8 or 12 weeks lead time. I wish it didn't take so long to get a catalog item.

This works great for our application.
This unit will last us approximately one year and gets used constantly on a daily basis.

Is this load cell susceptible to high vibration? I am running a test that sees significant vibration for 24 hours or longer and the last load cell that I had stopped working. The load was consistent between 2000-2050 LBS and the load cell stopped working.
The short answer is yes.
Load cells have a difficult time because of their construction .
The wires can break and the connection would be lost.
Also theirs the issue of overloading.
Please contact us to discuss with are engineers of a possible solution.

What is a minimum load for a LC101-250 load cell?
Thank you for your inquiry, the LC101-250 is an analog device that should respond to any change it sees.

what is the frequency response of the load cells? Can they be used to measure dynamic (variable in time at high frequency) loads?
Thank you for contacting Omega. The load cells we carry are not intended for high frequency measurements. Typically they are good for measurements up to about 100 Hz.

I wanted to know what is a compatible amplifier that we can use with this load cell, LC101-50?
Thank you for your inquire
We have a variety of amps available a few models are DMD466,DMD4059 & DMD465

Can the top and bottom rest against a surface or does the load cell need to be off set with rod ends?
Tank you for your question?
The load cell works best with rod ends or a load button.
The cell will still work if you measure the load with the top and bottom
