Supported Applications
The Omega EXGG-JX-WIRE series provides Thermocouple Wire Duplex Extension Grade solutions for temperature measurement systems. The product line includes JX (Iron/Constantan) and TX (Copper/Constantan) types designed to extend thermocouple signals from the sensor to instrumentation.
Operating Conditions & Performance
Maximum operating temperatures vary by insulation material, with values representing the limit for extension-grade wire or insulation, whichever is lower. JX Extension Grade Iron/Constantan Duplex ANSI Type JX configurations support maximums of 200°C (392°F) for Glass braid, PFA, Neoflon, and FEP insulations. Polyvinyl-insulated variants are rated to a maximum of 105°C (221°F). TX Extension Grade Copper/Constantan Duplex ANSI Type TX configurations support maximums of 100°C (212°F) across PFA, Neoflon, and FEP insulations, while Polyvinyl-insulated variants are rated to a maximum of 105°C (221°F).
Insulation Materials
- Glass braid

- Polyvinyl
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable dimensions and construction options to accommodate specific installation requirements. Available configurations include various AWG sizes, conductor types, overall jacketing materials, and spool lengths.
Conductor Types
- Solid conductors are available across multiple insulation families.
- Stranded conductors are offered in specific Polyvinyl-insulated models (e.g., 7 x 24 for AWG 16, 7 x 28 for AWG 20, and 7 x 32 for AWG 24).
Overbraiding Options
To add durability and abrasion protection, the series supports available overbraiding in Inconel® 600, 304 SS, or tinned copper.
Error Limits
Special limits of error wire is offered by adding "-SLE" to the model number before specifying spool length.
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between JX and TX thermocouple types, which differ in conductor composition (Iron/Constantan versus Copper/Constantan) and maximum temperature ratings. Model numbers reflect insulation type prefixes: EXGG for Glass braid, EXTT for PFA over PFA or Neoflon, EXPP for Polyvinyl, and EXFF for FEP.
Color Coding
The series follows ANSI color codes for positive and negative wires. IEC color code options are available through online ordering channels.

Good quality wire
We have been using this in our machines since before I started here in 2010. No probles, no issues.
