Supported Applications

The Omega EMTI-3 Series consists of screw plug immersion heaters designed for solution water applications. These units feature Incoloy sheath elements and are engineered to operate with an approved temperature control device to assure safe operation.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series delivers high watt density at 45 W/in² across power ratings from 3 kW to 18 kW. Electrical supply is specified for 240V or 480V, 3-phase operation. The heating elements utilize a 1.2 (0.475) Dia. configuration with three heating elements per unit.

Configuration Options

The EMTI-3 Series is configurable by power rating, voltage, and terminal enclosure type to meet specific installation requirements.

• Power Ratings: 3 kW, 6 kW, 9 kW, 12 kW, 15 kW, and 18 kW.
• Voltage Options: Configurable for 240V or 480 Vac (designated as '240' or '480').
• Enclosure Types:
  • E1: General purpose, NEMA 1 (IP00) rated.
  • E2: Moisture-resistant/explosion-resistant enclosure.
• Process Connection: 2 in NPT stainless steel screw plug with a housing material of Stainless Steel for the screw plug.
• Wetted Materials: Incoloy sheath elements.

The series supports UL and CSA certifications. Heaters with general purpose enclosures are UL listed and CSA certified, while heaters with moisture-resistant/explosion-resistant enclosures are CSA NRTL/C certified and are not intended for use in hazardous areas.

Key Product Differences

Model numbers follow the format EMTI--. For example, a 3 kW unit at 240V with an E1 enclosure is designated as EMTI-330/*, while the same power and voltage configuration with an E2 enclosure is designated as EMTI-330E2/*. Dimensional variations correspond to power ratings; for instance, the B dimension ranges from 19.7 (7¾) cm/in for 3 kW models up to 122 (47⅞) cm/in for 18 kW models.

Enclosure dimensions differ between types: E1 enclosures feature a hole for 3/4 NPT conduit, while E2 enclosures provide two 3/4 NPT conduit openings. The thermowell dimension is listed as 10 (4) cm/in for the E1 enclosure and 13 (5-3/16) Nom. cm/in for the E2 enclosure.
