Supported Applications

The Omega DPG4000 is a very-high-accuracy digital pressure gauge designed for high-accuracy pressure measurement in industrial applications. It combines the precision of digital electronics with analog gauge simplicity, making it suitable for use as a calibration reference or in any application requiring precise pressure monitoring.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The DPG4000 series delivers an accuracy of ±0.05% FS on positive pressure ranges and ±0.1% FS on compound models. The device features a backlit 5-digit display with resolution limited to 100,000 counts. Measurement ranges span from -1 to 1 psi up to 0 to 10,000 psi for positive pressures, including compound options such as -15 to 15 psi and -15 to 30 psi.

Operating ambient temperature is specified at -10 to 55°C (14 to 131°F), with a storage temperature range of -20 to 70°C (-4 to 158°F). The gauge carries an NEMA 4 (IP65) rating. Wetted materials are compatible with liquids and gases that do not react adversely with 316 SS.

Proof pressure and burst pressure limits vary by model range:

• -1 to 1 psi: Proof Pressure 5 psi, Burst Pressure 50 psi
• 0 to 15 psi / -15 to 15 psi (compound): Proof Pressure 30 psi, Burst Pressure 500 psi
• 0 to 30 psi / -15 to 30 psi (compound): Proof Pressure 60 psi, Burst Pressure 500 psi
• 0 to 100 psi: Proof Pressure 200 psi, Burst Pressure 1000 psi
• 0 to 300 psi / 0 to 500 psi: Proof Pressures of 600 psi and 1000 psi respectively; Burst Pressure 2000 psi for both.
• 0 to 1,000 psi through 0 to 3,000 psi: Burst Pressure 10k psi
• 0 to 5,000 psi / 0 to 10,000 psi: Proof Pressures of 10k psi and 15k psi respectively; Burst Pressure matches proof pressure for the 10K model.

Note: Positive pressure ranges up to and including 100 psig should not be used for vacuum measurements, as a vacuum of -5 psig will cause permanent damage. Compound ranges can measure vacuum safely. The 300 psi and 500 psig ranges may also handle vacuum without damage.

Configuration Options

The DPG4000 series is configurable across multiple dimensions to meet specific installation needs:

• Housing & Mounting: Standard rugged stainless steel case with a ¼ MNPT lower mount. A rear fitting option (add suffix '-RM') allows for panel mounting using the DPG4000-FLANGE accessory.
• Power Supply: Operates on three 'AA' alkaline batteries (included) or an optional 24 Vdc power supply (add suffix '-DC').
• Communication & Output: Features RS232 Communications Standard via the DPG4000-C32 cable.
• User Functions: Configurable settings include sampling rate, TARE, damping, auto shut off, and min/max tracking. Settings can be locked with password protection to prevent unauthorized changes.
• Protection & Accessories: A protective rubber boot (DPG4000-RB) is available for added durability.

The gauge supports standard engineering units including psi, bar, kg/cm², inH₂O, ftH₂O, cmH₂O, mH₂O, kPa, mbar, inHg, mmHg, and torr. Specific temperature references for water column measurements (4°C, 20°C, or 60°F) are selectable.

Key Product Differences

The DPG4000 series is distinguished by its range-specific model numbers which dictate proof and burst pressure limits. The base models include positive ranges from -1 to 1 psi up to 0 to 10,000 psi (e.g., DPG4000-30, DPG4000-1K). Compound versions are designated with a 'C' suffix for vacuum capability in lower pressure bands.

Physical configuration varies by the addition of specific suffixes: '-RM' denotes a rear fitting mount compatible with panel flanges, while '-DC' indicates the 24 Vdc powered version. The standard battery-powered unit includes factory-installed batteries unless the optional external power supply is selected; in that case, batteries should not be installed.
