Supported Applications
The Omega OMEGALOK Adaptors, Fittings & Bushings series provides connection solutions for protection tubes and probes. The product line includes Standard Dimension adaptors, reducing bushings, compression fittings, metric thread adaptors, and Metric OMEGALOK® Compression Fittings designed to convert imperial and metric threads.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series is constructed from brass, stainless steel (316 SS), and carbon steel. Specific dimensional parameters vary by model; for example, the "ADAPTORS AND BUSHINGS" table lists lengths ranging from 1.09 inches to 2.16 inches with across hex flats between 7/8 inch and 1 5/8 inches depending on thread size. The "OMEGALOK® COMPRESSION FITTINGS" table specifies protection tube outer diameters (OD) from 1/16 inch to 1/2 inch, with lengths ranging from 24.6 mm (0.97 inch) to 49.3 mm (1.94 inch). Metric OMEGALOK® Compression Fittings support protection tube ODs of 3.0 mm, 4.5 mm, 6.0 mm, and 8.0 mm.
Configuration Options
The series supports a wide range of configurations across four primary product families:
- Adaptors and Bushings (RA/RB Series): Includes reducing adaptors with NPT male/female threads ranging from 1/8 to 1 inch, and reducing bushings. Materials include brass (-BR), stainless steel (-SS), and carbon steel (*-CS) for larger sizes such as the RB-114-34-CS*.
- OMEGALOK® Compression Fittings (BRLK/SSLK Series): Designed for protection tube ODs from 1/16 to 1/2 inch with male NPT threads. Available in brass and 316 stainless steel.
- Metric Thread Adaptors (MTA Series): Converts between Female NPT, Male BSPT* (ISO 228/1, BS 2779), and other thread types. Models include MTA1 through MTA4 series with sizes from 1/8 to 1 inch.
- Metric OMEGALOK® Compression Fittings: Supports metric protection tube ODs (3.0 mm, 4.5 mm, 6.0 mm, 8.0 mm) connecting to NPT threads or BSP Taper/Parallel threads (BSPT/BSPP).
Ferrules: Replacement ferrules are available in packages of 10 for tube ODs from 1/16 to 1/2 inch. Materials include brass, stainless steel, and PTFE.
Key Product Differences
Variants differ by material composition, thread standard, and protection tube compatibility:
- Material Options: Models are designated as Brass (-BR), Stainless Steel (316 SS or -SS), Carbon Steel (*-CS*), or PTFE. Note that PTFE ferrules can only be used with stainless steel compression fittings.
- Thread Standards: The series covers NPT, BSPT* (ISO 228/1, BS 2779), and BSP Parallel threads. Metric thread adaptors facilitate conversion between these standards.
- Model Numbering: Model numbers encode the function and material; for example, BRLK-14-14 indicates a brass compression fitting for 1/4 inch OD tubes with 1/4 NPT threads, while SSLK-M30-18T denotes a stainless steel metric OMEGALOK® fitting for a 3.0 mm tube with BSPT thread.

What pressure will these compression fittings hold with a sheet type thermocouple
Omega does not put a pressure rating on these fittings because there are many variables like tube wall thickness and temperature. You would need to send the exact part numbers to temp@omega.com to review but certainly a few hundred PSI can be expected.

Is Item# SSLK-14-18 bored through the same as Item# SSLK-14-14?
Yes the first 14 is for the size of the tube accepted in this cases 0.25". The second number is for the NPT thread on the fitting.

Is the OmegaLok adapter Item# SSLK-14-14, 1/4" all the way through or is there a stop?
Thank you for your inquiry. This compression fitting is designed to accept a 1/4" diameter probe with no stop and opening is all the way through for probe insertion into a process.

What is the thru hole diameter of the 1/8NPT to 6mm compression fitting? We are trying to use for a 5mm probe that has a 6mm collar for the fitting (need the 5mm diameter to go through the fitting). What is the rated pressure of the fitting?
The SSLK-M60-18 has an opening to accept a 6mm diameter tube. Omega cannot make a recommendation for any other diameter and does not place a pressure rating either.
