Supported Applications
The Omega Non-Reversible, Eight Point Horizontal Temperature Label series (8M-LABELS) provides a visual indication of temperature exposure. These labels are designed to show when specific temperatures have been reached or exceeded.
Operating Conditions & Performance
This series features non-reversible indicators that change state upon reaching designated setpoints. The available variants cover the following temperature thresholds as indicated by their part numbers:
- 100°F (38°C)
- 140°F (60°C)
- 180°F (82°C)
- 230°F (110°C)
The labels are configured with eight distinct points arranged horizontally to display these temperature events.
Configuration Options
The 8M-LABELS series is offered in multiple configurations distinguished by their model codes and suffixes. The available variants include:
- Model Prefix A (e.g., 8MA-A-...): Standard configuration options.
- Model Prefix B (e.g., 8MB-A-...): Alternative series variant, currently listed for the 100°F/38°C setpoint range.
- Suffix -30: Specific option code available on select temperature ranges including 100°F/38°C, 140°F/60°C, 180°F/82°C, and 230°F/110°C.
The series supports the following specific part numbers:
- 8MA-A-100/38 and 8MA-A-100/38-30
- 8MA-A-140/60 and 8MA-A-140/60-30
- 8MA-A-180/82 and 8MA-A-180/82-30
- 8MA-A-230/110 and 8MA-A-230/110-30
- 8MB-A-100/38 and 8MB-A-100/38-30
Key Product Differences
Variants within the series differ by their temperature setpoint values (ranging from 100°F to 230°F) and model prefixes. The "A" prefix models are available across all four listed temperature ranges, while the "B" prefix is currently represented in the bundle for the 100°F/38°C range.
Additionally, specific part numbers include a "-30" suffix, indicating an option or configuration variation distinct from the base model without this suffix. The horizontal eight-point layout remains consistent across these variants as defined by the series title.

Are the Non-Reversible OMEGALABEL Temperature Strips vacuum-compatible? I would like to use them to determine the temperature of the sample-holding stage in a thermal evaporation system that operates at a pressure typically in the E-6 to E-7 Torr range.
Hi Mickey,
Thank you for your question. Here are the notes that we have pertaining to use of the temp labels in a vacuum application:
"The irreversible labels are not intended to be used in a vacuum setting as they may give false readings. Some customers have had success using the labels in vacuum settings but we cannot guarantee their performance."

What is a shelf life for the PSA use on a label 8MA-A-140/60?
Hi Quynh,
Shelf life of the adhesive is 1 year.
Best regards

On the Omega 8MA temperature strips, Does it matter how they are installed meaning is there an upside down or right side up, and would that negate the accuracy of them if one was installed different from one that was 4 inches away?
Thank you for your question.
The temperature labels need to be applied to a clean dry surface. Orientation and distance to another label is not a concern. The labels will measure the temperature of where they are applied.

I have these indicators onto a curved nylon surface and used instant adhesive (Loctite 410) to ensure that they to do come off. Will the Loctitie or the curved surface affect the temperature reading?
The temperature labels are fine to use on curved surfaces as long as the label remains in full contact with the surface. We do not test the labels with other adhesives so I would not be able to say one way or another if using the Loctite 410 would skew the reading in any way.
