Supported Applications
The Omega LVN10-20 Series comprises low-cost, vertical-mount liquid level switches designed for submersion in tanks. These devices utilize a reed switch mechanism to provide high repeatability and are sealed with potting compound specifically for moisture-laden environments.
- Liquid Level monitoring
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within an ambient/process temperature range of -40 to 82°C (-40 to 180°F), with a maximum operating limit of 110°C (230°F) in Oil. The switches are sealed to meet NEMA VI (NEMA 6 / IP68) ratings, allowing for submersion and years of worry-free operation.
- Maximum Pressure Rating - LVN-10: 160 psi
- Maximum Pressure Rating - LVN-20: 225 psi
Configuration Options
The series offers two primary models, LVN-10 and LVN-20, distinguished by process connection size, overall length, float dimensions, and pressure ratings. Both variants feature a SPST switch with user-selectable normally open or normally closed configurations.
- Process Connections: 1/8" NPT (LVN-10) and 1/4" NPT (LVN-20)
- Mounting Orientation: Vertical mount at the top or bottom of a tank
- Electrical Connection: Lead Wires, 20 AWG, 24" PVC (-600V rating noted in dimensions table for LVN-10/LVN-20 context)
Wetted Materials and Construction
The series supports the following wetted materials: Brass, Buna-N, and 316SS. The stem material is specified as Brass.
- LVN-10 Float Material: Buna-N (Specific Gravity: 0.56)
- LVN-20 Float Material: Buna-N (Specific Gravity: 0.70)
Switch Ratings
The switch rating for both LVN-10 and LVN-20 is listed as 50 VA.
Key Product Differences
Differences between the two models are defined by physical dimensions, connection size, and pressure capacity:
- LVN-10: Features a 1/8" NPT thread, an overall length of 54 NOM (2 1/8 NOM), an 11 mm HEX (7/16" HEX) hex nut, and a float dimension of 25 DIA x 25 mm H (1 DIA x 1" H).
- LVN-20: Features a 1/4" NPT thread, an overall length of 87 NOM (3 7/16 NOM), a 14 HEX (9/16 HEX) hex nut, and a float dimension of 32 DIA x 44 H (1 1/4 DIA x 1 3/4 H).
Switch actuation occurs approximately at the halfway point of float travel or half the distance from the end of the stem to mounting.

Contact resistance for LVN-10. Need to calculate the voltage loss if I connect the sensors in series.
Thank you for your inquiry! We do not have any established values for the contact resistance on LVN-10. The overall resistance can be approximated based on the wire gauge (20 AWG) and lead wire length (24")

Can factory install wire lenght be changed to anything longer than 24" when ordered? The 24" wire lenght is just not long enough for my application.
Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, there is no option to extend the lead wires to longer cable length.
