Supported Applications

The Omega TX93, TX94, and TX95 series are miniature head mount temperature transmitters designed for thermocouple (J, K, T, or E), RTD (100 Ω Pt, alpha = 0.00385), and voltage input applications. These non-isolated units eliminate long runs of costly field wiring by transmitting a signal that reduces noise pickup, voltage drops, and cold junction errors. The series is intended for use with ungrounded probes.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The transmitters provide an output range of 4 to 20 mA dc with ±0.1% FS accuracy (includes effects of linearity, hysteresis and repeatability). Frequency response is specified at 3 dB @ 3Hz. The ambient temperature operating range is -25 to 85°C (-13 to 185°F), while the storage temperature range extends from -65 to 125°C (-85 to 257°F).

Measurement ranges vary by model and sensor type:

• Thermocouple (J, K, T, E): Ranges include -40 to 49 °C (-40 to 120 °F), -18 to 93 °C (0 to 200 °F), -18 to 149 °C (0 to 300 °F), -18 to 260 °C (0 to 500 °F), -18 to 399 °C (0 to 750 °F), and -18 to 538 °C (0 to 1000 °F).
• RTD: Ranges correspond to the thermocouple codes listed above.
• Voltage Input: Available in 0 to 60 mV dc and 0 to 10 Vdc ranges.

The units require a supply voltage of 8 to 35 Vdc (24 Vdc recommended) with a maximum loop resistance calculated as Vs - 8V / 0.020. Zero and span adjustment range is ±25%.

Configuration Options

The series offers three primary model families based on input type:

• TX93-(*): Thermocouple transmitter (J, K, T, or E).
• TX94-(*): RTD transmitter (100 Ω Pt, alpha = 0.00385) with a 2-lead configuration.
• TX95-(*): Voltage input transmitter.

The series also includes integrated probe options:

• NB1TX93-(*): NB1 thermocouple probe, 305 mm (12") L, 6 mm (¼") OD, ungrounded junction, with a 304 SS sheath and TX93 transmitter.
• PRTX94-(*): PR-12 RTD probe, 305 mm (12") L, 6 mm (¼") OD, with a 304 SS sheath and TX94 transmitter.

The physical dimensions are 1.90 H x 4.45 cm D (0.75 x 1.75"), where height includes the terminal strip electrical connection. The unit weight is 30 g (1 oz). Mounting options include a DIN rail mounting adaptor (TX90-DIN) and various power supplies such as regulated PSR-24S, PSR-24L, PSR-24L-230, or unregulated PSU-93.

Key Product Differences

The TX93 models output a signal proportional to the mV output of the thermocouple and are not linearized to temperature. The series distinguishes between standalone transmitters (TX93/94/95) that mount in a protection head and complete probe assemblies (NB1TX93, PRTX94). Range codes inserted into the model number define the specific measurement span for each sensor type.
