Supported Applications

The PRG98 is a miniature air pressure regulator designed for pneumatic service only. It provides a high level of regulation accuracy and repeatability in a compact, lightweight housing, making it suited to applications that require precise pressure control and substantial flow capacity under variable operating conditions and in limited space.

• Regulated air supply for instrumentation, test benches, microprocessor-driven equipment and other pneumatic circuits.
• Optional 10-32 UNF-2B ports allow downstream pressure monitoring, and a gauge such as the PGU-15B series can be added directly to the system.
• A filter of 40 micron minimum should be installed upstream to keep foreign material from affecting performance.

The regulator is a relieving type and must not be relied upon as an overpressure safety device, and the unit is not designed for human applications.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The PRG98 accepts a maximum supply pressure of 10 bar and operates across temperature limits of -18 to 71°C. Its diecast aluminum alloy body carries a chromate and epoxy paint finish, with nitrile elastomers and zinc-plated steel trim on the wetted path.

• Repeatability: 0.3% of span, with high-resolution adjustment of set pressure.
• Flow capacity: 10 SCFM @ 100 psi inlet, with an exhaust capacity of 7 SCFM.
• Supply pressure effect: 0.5 psi for 100 psi change.
• Sensitivity: 0.25 inH₂O.
• Air consumption: 6 SCFH maximum at 150 psi supply.
• Ports: 1/16 - 27 NPT, with optional 10-32 UNF-2B ports.
• Mounting: pipe, panel, through body or optional bracket.

The regulator measures 35.1 W x 35.1 D x 98.5 mm H and weighs 0.16 kg (0.35 lbs).

Configuration Options

Models in the range are distinguished by their adjustable output pressure range, so the choice of variant sets the span over which set pressure can be dialed in. All variants share the same housing, port sizes, repeatability and supply-pressure rating.

• PRG98A-30 covers an output range of 0 to 30 psi (0 to 2.1 bar) for low-pressure control.
• PRG98A-60 covers 0 to 60 psi (0 to 4.1 bar) for mid-range service.
• PRG98A-120 extends the output range up to 0 to 6.9 bar for higher-pressure work.

Key Product Differences

The model number follows the guide PRG98A - <OUTPUT PRESSURE RANGE>, where the suffix indicates the adjustable output pressure range.

• PRG98-60 — miniature pressure regulator with a 0 to 60 psi adjustable range.
• PRG98A-30 — output pressure range 0 to 30 psi (0 to 2.1 bar).

A compatible pressure gauge, such as the PGU-15B series, can be added with a back-mount fitting for on-system pressure monitoring.
