Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series MV Mini Brass Ball Valves are designed for gas and liquid control in small, confined spaces where larger valves cannot be used. The series provides bubble-tight shutoff with a double seal system that allows operation in both directions.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The valve operates within process temperature limits of -4 to 250°F (-20 to 121°C) and pressure ranges from -29" Hg to 450 psi (-736 mm Hg to 31 bar). Service is limited to gases and liquids compatible with the wetted materials; the series is not rated for steam use.

Configuration Options

The Series MV offers configurable options across handle styles, connection types, and pipe sizes. The model chart defines specific combinations of these parameters:

  • Pipe Sizes: 1/8", 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2".
  • Handle Styles: Lever handle, Tee handle, Wedge handle, and Screwdriver slot.
  • End Connections: NPT (Female x Female or Male x Female configurations).

Wetted materials include a chrome-plated brass valve body and ball, Fluoroelastomer O-ring stem seals, and PTFE ball seats.

Key Product Differences

Variants are distinguished by the handle mechanism and connection gender. Models with "Lever," "Tee," or "Wedge" handles (MVB series) provide manual actuation via a protruding grip, while models designated as MV5 feature a screwdriver slot for operation in restricted access areas.

Connection configurations are indicated by the model suffix: "F" denotes Female x Female connections, and "M" denotes Male x Female connections. For example, MVB-LF1 is a 1/8" valve with a lever handle and female-female NPT ends, whereas MV5-SM2 is a 1/4" screwdriver-slot model with male-female NPT ends.
