Supported Applications
The Omega LCMKD Series consists of subminiature industrial compression load cells designed for measuring compressive forces. These metric models are engineered to be mounted on a smooth, flat surface and feature rugged all stainless steel construction with high-performance strain gages.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The LCMKD Series operates within an ambient temperature range of -54 to 121°C (-65 to 250°F). The cells provide a nominal output signal of 2 mV/V with an excitation voltage requirement of 5 Vdc (7 Vdc maximum) and a load resistance minimum of 350 Ω. Performance specifications include linearity, hysteresis, repeatability, and zero balance values expressed as percentages of Full Scale Output (FSO):
- Linearity: ±0.25% FSO
- Hysteresis: ±0.25% FSO
- Repeatability: ±0.10% FSO
- Zero Balance: ±2% FSO
The series carries an IP54 enclosure rating and includes a 5-point NIST-traceable calibration along with shunt data (59 kΩ). The unit weight is less than 14 g (<0.5 oz).
Configuration Options
This series offers configurable capacities across standard imperial (LCKD) and metric (LCMKD) designations, covering measurement ranges from 1 kg to 1000 lb or 10 N to 5000 N. The physical dimensions vary by capacity tier:
- Low Capacity (10 to 200 N / 1 kg to 50 lb): D1: 9.6 mm (0.38 in), H: 3.0 mm (0.12 in)
- Mid Capacity (500 to 1000 N / 100 to 250 lb): D1: 13 mm (0.50 in), H: 3.8 mm (0.15 in)
- High Capacity (2000 to 5000 N / 500 to 1000 lb): D1: 19 mm (0.75 in), H: 6.4 mm (0.25 in)
Electrical connection is provided via a standard 1.5 m (5') 4-conductor insulated cable containing an integrated temperature compensation board. The wire color code is defined as RED = +EXC, BLACK = EXC, GREEN = -OUTPUT, and WHITE = +OUTPUT.
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between standard imperial models (LCKD) and metric models (LCMKD). Metric model numbers follow the format LCMKD-<CAPACITY>, such as LCMKD-10N for 10 Newton capacity or LCMKD-5KN for 5000 Newton capacity. Specific variants include capacities of 10 N, 20 N, 50 N, 100 N, 200 N, 500 N, 1 kN (LCMKD-1KN), 2 kN (LCMKD-2KN), and 5 kN (LCMKD-5KN). Some variants are available with extended cable lengths, indicated by suffixes such as -10FT. Compatible meters for these load cells include the DPIS, DP41-S, DP25B-S, and iSeries.

What are the dimensions of the load cell, specifically, what is the diameter? Also how would you set this up in a Arduino?
Diameter of the LCMKD load cells will vary depending on it's load range. Dimensions for each load range are indicated on the full data that you can access on the our websit. We would have no information on setup of this unit in an Arduino

What are the Accuracy and Creep specifications for LCKD-5 and LCKD-1?
Hello, thank you for contacting Omega Engineering. We do not have the exact creep spec for this load cell , but the nominal value is 0.01 to 0.1 percent of rated output. For additional resource please see: https://www.nist.gov/document/vdi-312pdf https://www.nist.gov/document/vdi-312pdf
The accuracy spec of this load cell will be 0.367% of the full scale output.
