Supported Applications
The Omega LCM501 and LCM511 series comprises high-accuracy stainless steel cantilever beam load cells designed for tension and compression applications. These sensors are engineered for harsh industrial environments, featuring all-stainless steel construction to withstand demanding conditions. The series supports multiple cell configurations with 0.25% interchangeability.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The LCM501/LCM511 load cells operate within an ambient temperature range of -34 to 82°C (-30 to 180°F), with a compensated temperature range of 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F). The series offers IP65 protection level. Performance specifications include linearity of ±0.03% FSO, hysteresis of ±0.05% FSO, and repeatability of ±0.02% FSO. Zero balance is specified at ±1% FSO.
Thermal effects are rated at ±0.001% FSO/°F (±0.0018%/°C) for both zero and span. The safe overload limit is 150% of capacity, with an ultimate overload rating of 300% of capacity. Electrical excitation requires 10 Vdc with a maximum of 15 Vdc, producing an output signal of 3 mV/V ±0.25%. Input resistance is 360 Ω minimum and output resistance is 350 ±10 Ω.
Configuration Options
The series covers capacities from 0-50 lb to 0-30,000 lb (LC501/LC511) and 0-25 kgf to 0-10,000 kgf (LCM501/LCM511). Construction materials include 17-4 PH stainless steel for standard ranges; capacities greater than 30,000 lb utilize high-alloy steel. The series is available in two primary electrical configurations:
- LC501 / LCM501: Equipped with a 4-conductor shielded cable (standard length 4.6 m or 15').
- LC511 / LCM511: Features a twist-lock 6-pin connector (DT02H-10-6P or equivalent). The mating connector PT06F10-6S is sold separately.
The series supports various mounting accessories including load buttons and rod ends tailored to specific capacity ranges. Base plates are available in nickel-plated carbon steel (standard) or stainless steel upon specification of BP-10-SS, BP-15-SS, or BP-20-SS.
Available Accessories
- Load Buttons: LBC-012 (100 to 7500 lb), LBC-034 (LC501/511-10K), LBC-101 (LC501/511-20K, LC501/511-30 K); MLBC-M12 (25 to 2500 kgf), MLBC-M20 (LCM501-5K/LCM511-5K), MLBC-M24 (LCM501-10K/LCM511-10K).
- Rod Ends: REC-012M, REC-034M for imperial ranges; MREC-M12M, MREC-M20M, MREC-M24M for metric ranges.
- Cable Assemblies: CA-4PC24-2-015 (4.6 m PVC cable with PT06F10-6S).
Compatible Meters
The series is compatible with DP41-B, DP41-S, and DP25B-S meters for imperial models; metric models support DPIS, DP41-S, and DP25B-S. Note that 4-digit meter compatibility applies to specific high-capacity ranges.
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction within the series is between standard cable versions (LC501/LCM501) and connector-equipped versions (LC511/LCM511). The LC prefix denotes imperial capacity ratings in pounds, while LCM indicates metric capacity ratings in kilogram-force. Capacities exceeding 30,000 lb utilize high-alloy steel construction rather than the standard 17-4 PH stainless steel used for lower ranges.
Model numbering follows the format -, where connector style is omitted for cable versions and specified as LC511 or LCM511 for twist-lock models. Base plate compatibility varies by capacity, with BP-10 supporting up to 750 lb/341 kgf, BP-15 covering higher ranges, and BP-20 required for the largest capacities.
